Reading through their AMA on reddit from a couple years back. Listened to the stream again last night. Really dragging out this whole death and grieving process over here. I miss them so much already.

So frustrating that Brother, Sister is not on Spotify UK. Really killing the discog run.

It hasn’t hit me at all. Pretty sure I’m in some super level of denial or something.

Think it “helps” that I only just reached the upper-most tier of fandom after Pale Horses came out. The tier I’m referring to is the one where you anticipate the next release enough that you stay up ‘til midnight to preorder it right away.

That, or I know mwY’s stuff is so dense that I barely understand most of it & know I have plenty left to discover in songs I’m intimately familiar with.

Yeah, I think I'm still going to be unpacking the lyrics on Untitled for years.

I feel that way, too. I've been going back to Ten Stories a lot this week, which despite not even being one of my favorites is still so compelling and intricate—I'm always catching new aspects to the story when I listen closely.

    Mewithoutyou albums are worlds.

    I do not exist.

It’s not for everyone. It’s basically Paul Matthew Harrison’s story and a lot of it is about his life / feelings / deconstruction / relationships, but it is through the lens of conversations and friendship with Aaron Weiss. For me, I loved it. There was enough mewithoutYou insights, Aaron insights and album insights to make it worthwhile. However I’ve seen some fans on the internet be less enamoured with the whole thing.

@atticusfinch have you got/read pt2? Worth reading if you enjoy this. Very short in comparison, but covers a few years after this ends.

Lots of interesting insight into the faith journey of Aaron. Just really conversational in how the material is presented. Definitely worth a read if you have gone through any form of faith deconstruction/reconstruction or are a natural cynic about religion.

I’ve always said mwY is my desert island band for this reason. Such depth to lyrics and a wide variety of sounds across the discography.

We don't have it here in Poland either, not cool! There's still bandcamp and I've got the files as well, but still...

An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

thanks for making my ramblings into something that actually reads beautifully @Mary V. loved reading the others thoughts too - Sun and the Moon is definitely Rickie's finest moment, for sure

Great tribute. Captures this thought/feeling I've been thinking about recently about how, for people who share this favourite band, each person has a unique story of discovery and a unique connection to the band, but the NATURE of that connection always seems to be the same. If that makes any sense.

Wonder if any of the members will create new projects now that mwY is done. I imagine we’ll continue to get new geology.
