This is your life, are you who you want to be?

New single Permanent Rebellion goes live 8/26. VPNs make for great time machines ;)

Listened to this on a twilight walk this weekend in what felt like early fall weather. It was perfect and this is going to be a great fall album.

I just got hit with a super fun question from a bestie:

If you had to choose to keep one between Translating The Name EP OR Juturna, and the other is erased from history, what are you going with?

It feels dumb because it's so much shorter, but TTN is just THAT good and a landmark moment in my musical history

I'm keeping TTN mainly bc OLG is an even more perfect iteration on Juturna.

I said that while Juturna is an all time favorite, TTN was too monumental and unique. Never had anything come after it that felt the same. I could totally live with a Circa reality where they started out on On Letting Go.

i think TTN is one of the most overrated things in scene music history lol

I don’t think Saosin gets enough credit for how many bands went into the post-hardcore sound with screamed and clean vocals because of that EP’s influence. The tracks are also extremely good instrumentally and vocally, but it’s timing and Anthony’s voice made big waves in a small pond then.

i think it gets way more credit than it deserves in that regard /shrug

You must fix your heart Supporter

I like all five songs on TTN more than any Circa song and I really love a lot of Circa songs. It's just such a perfect mix of sounds for me.

So yeah, easy pick for me. Juturna has never quite hit me like it seemed to for a lot of people.

I dunno, my perception is that this site tends to underrate Juturna. There's not a single song that misses, it's basically a perfect album as far as I'm concerned.

OLG is better but OLG is like, god's gift to humanity

It's only in recent years that I've come to see OLG as superior, but it's fucking close

OLG is better. But Juturna > TTN easily.

  21. Honestly feel like Juturna hasn't aged a day when I listen to it. I may be a little younger than some of you but I similarly had never heard anything like them when my brother first turned me into Circa and Anthony. Easy choice

i think TTN is pretty seminal when you remind yourself what the rest of the scene was like back then. with that context i dont think its overrated given that its so influential. but today it hasnt aged well to my ears and i dont enjoy it a ton anymore or really want to listen to it much anymore.

Juturna is a gem of an album that nothing else sounds anything like it. and its definitely better than TTN. ALOT more going for it.

the end of Lost Symphonies always makes me laugh. it sounds like a high school battle of the bands moment lol.

i kinda look at Cedric Zavala, Anthony Green, and Claudio Sanchez’s vocal performances, all in 2003, as kickstarting emo and this wave of post hardcore with high vocals.
