I just finished my first listen of the new Blackbraid album and I had a good time with it. This is definitely an album I will need to spend further time with when I'm in a more fitting headspace, though. Black metal in general hasn't really been hitting for me over the last couple of months, in terms of styles I'm in the mood for

I do like Fit For an Autopsy and some recent Acacia Strain though

 

I genuinely don’t know how to process this as a long time Neurosis fan, this is heartbreaking. Fuck.

 

Deathcore and I have been on-again off-again lovers over the past few years but there's just something about even the corny 2000's MySpacecore that keeps me coming back for more. I don't go to it for the same reasons I go to death metal which I think is where a lot of people screw up with trying to get into the genre, but I do enjoy it a ton for what it is at times.

Having said that I'm also old enough to really have nostalgia associated with the genre as I get older so that could also color my perspective. IDK, I just like a cheesy ass tough guy breakdown every now and then.

 

Holy shit... had no idea he worked at Oregon Shakespeare Festival. I've actually applied for work there before. That's a terrifying thought with this information.
