Like, okay, sorry, I’m triggered. I CONSTANTLY point things out in group settings (generally at work) that are just common sense to me and people so often go, “huh, I never thought of it that way. You’re right.” Like, I try to see the logic in how things are done. So so so so so often there isn’t. Most often it’s just “that’s what we’ve always done” or “we just assign things randomly to be fair.” Which are both so unbelievably stupid to me. The first rejects the notion that things can be improved or be more efficient. But we live in a world where technology moves so quickly that new and better ways to complete our processes come up all the time. Stop working “harder” when you can work smarter. You just have to give up the comfort of already knowing how to do it. Change is okay. If you’re grown adults you should really be less fearful of change and growth. The second one drives me absolutely insane. Random is not fair. All random does is ensure that it’s not fair but the person assigning can say, “well it’s not MY fault. It’s random.” But it’s literally your job to assign these tasks. How is it beyond you that by doing it “randomly” you may be overworking some people and underworking others who will get bored and goof around and be unmotivated. While those overworked will see that and be upset at the imbalance of workloads and then be less motivated to do the job well. They’ll just want to rush through it so they can goof around, too. The fair way would be for the leader to remember they’re workers are fucking human beings and all have a different situation at work. My job involves taking calls and you can’t predict which calls are a quick transfer and which is going to be a whole consultation or scheduling an appointment. So when it comes time to assign new consultations to reach out to, you should probably see who has the most going on and not give them the new ones. It’s a small team. There’s 8 of us. All our work is in our system for any of us to see. All it would take is a short few minutes looking at what we’re working on and to see who was on our after hours program and would be coming in with more to do. Instead people are just too fucking lazy or apathetic to do that. They just go alphabetically as if all I am is just a name on a list. I feel like a crazy person that no one sees these things as often as I do. I don’t think I’m some genius or anything. I don’t think it’s that complicated. But people just don’t get it and I just want to lose it.

Yeah true, you were like, 2 when that show was on haha

90s/early 2000s kids really had the GOATed Nickelodeon. Doug, Rugrats, Hey Arnold, Rocko’s Modern Life are Mount Everest themselves. Then you have all the decent ones like Angry Beavers, CatDog, Wild Thornberries, Rocket Power, and even the beginning of Sponge Bob (which I admittedly was not a big fan of). KaBlam…man that was a weird show.

Then the quality of non-cartoon shows is just unmatched compared to the dreck they have today. Salute Your Shorts, Are You Afraid of the Dark, Keenan and Kel, All That, Pete and Pete, Alex Mac, Clarissa Explains it All, Hey Dude….and then all of the competition/game shows. Wild and Crazy Kids, DoubleDare, Legends of the Hidden Temple, What Would You Do, Nick Arcade, etc etc etc.

Just insane amount of quality and content back then

Most of those shows are unwatchable, you just didn't know because you were a kid.

Modern TV/streaming is undoubtedly better because there's a ton more content and all of those old shows (or at least all of the good ones) are still available.

nah I’ve watched some of them(most of them?) again as an adult and they still rule. I notice the difference more with the live action shows. The ones today seem super formulaic and seem to assume the kids are too dumb to get the jokes so they’re all dumbed down and also a lot of slapstick.

The acting was just as bad back then though lol. Definitely noticed that when watching some of these.

Yeah probably wasn’t watching the episodes as they newly came out, just when it was re-runs lol

Out of what you listed I also watched CatDog, Wild Thornberries, Rocket Power, SpongeBob. Didn’t really watch any of the non-cartoon ones you named though

Honestly, although the gender difference is stark, I think the most remarkable (and concerning) thing here is how low both numbers are. Regardless of gender, only a minority of young people describe themselves as liberal, which is kind of bad considering that it would be nice to blame Trump et al on the old, out of touch people who won't be around in a decade or two. These results are actually so counterintuitive that it makes me wonder about the poll itself

Unless the remaining 50-75% are rejecting liberalism altogether and identifying as leftists, in which case this is great news
