TTN is absolutely genre-defining music and only 5 songs, it's an unreal release

btw im not talking about TTN. along the shadow is mostly meh to bad imo except for 2 or 3 tracks. but really the one word id use to describe it is stale.

Yeah I was let down by ATS, but the songs I love I’m still very into (Ideology is Theft, Second Guesses, Control and the Urge to Pray)

I'll take ATS over most of what Circa has done post-OLG, lol. I understand they stick to a sound that's fallen out of favor and don't even pretend they're trying to "evolve," but the riffs are damn good and I'm here for it.

ATS is great. WHAT THE HECK

Saosin needs another contributing guitarist to balance Beau and add the old saolayers. But the last album does have some absolute bangers.

Anthony’s Melodys on the last two circa EPs and this release have me excited for it tho.

I think Beau keeps improving as a guitar player, so hopefully they do some crazy stuff next record

ATS was solid but it also came from the time when I wasn't really loving anything Anthony was doing. Since then he's put out his two best solo records and my second favourite Circa Survive album. Would love to hear a new Saosin album from him now.

Beau has said that Phil from AILD is actually writing some of the new stuff, and I'm sure he'll be playing on it.

There's some meandering in the middle, you might even say filler, but Sore Distress is just plain cool.

Yeah I think that’s one of the better ones in the middle portion of the album for sure.

Stutter Says A Lot is like the best song on the album, mid section is weak smh

I mean, they would, I think? They're not an active band it seems at the moment. I'd guess they're more of a hiatus type band than breakup, but yeah. They've not posted on their Patreon in a month, and fans are paying to subscribe to their Patreon. Financially, they'd be shooting themselves in the foot if they stopped the Patreon, given that there are people who are just happy to support them.

I still subscribe because I'm happy to support them. But I'm not getting anything new for my money now (whereas I was getting a lot before).

I'd be surprised if they don't got on an indefinite hiatus now, personally.

I could be wrong, but I’m pretty sure they usually just did monthly posts last year for the Patreon after they stopped doing a few things they did in 2020. Admittedly, it’s been a couple months since they’ve shared anything. That’s fine, I’m more than happy to give this band $25/month for everything they’ve done for me over the years. I’m just saying that I don’t think they’d keep their patreon running for 6+ months on inactivity. I would think they’d say something about it before it would get to that point.

I have a difficult time seeing them decide to go on any sort of hiatus, never say anything about it, but keep the patreon running so they can still collect money from fans despite no activity. They don’t strike me as those type of people.

Yeah, it makes sense what you're saying. I guess I just mean, they might've decided to go on hiatus already, just not made it indefinite. If they made it indefinite I guess they then would. But like I say, for independent artists like them, to basically stop the Patreon or such, that's a lot of cash lost.

I don't mean to be too cynical either, but I've noticed most AG projects really push endless merch. Like random stuff constantly just to keep getting fans money. Obviously they all need to make a living, but I do notice that I see it more from them than most bands I like.
