least favorite musical phrase. probably evoking fake nostalgia, like "remember when we use to" or "i miss how we'd" stuff like that. i know it can be used effectively, hell ive use it in a song i wrote not too long ago, but there are some artists that use those phrases way too much.

    Cursed by my ancestry

Records are fun to spin every once in a while, but I have the cheapest record player ever but a decent bluetooth/wifi speaker( Amazon Echo) so when I want to fill the apartment with music I usually go with the voice activated no fuss option. I like having vinyl even though none of mine get extensive use because it's a tangible tie and reminder of what that intangible piece of art means to me.

i dont listen to my records often at all they're pretty much there so i have some sort of physical media to pass on, plus i like holding big art work in my hands

I've been tempted to buy records a few times cause the artwork on it looks so pretty sometimes, but then I'm like eh I don't have a record player and I feel like that can snowball into an expensive hobby/collection and I'm a cheapo

It's definitely one of the better post-hardcore records from that era

I thought people ripped on it hard. Southern Charm is one of the coolest songs, and biggest risks I've heard from a PH album from that era

My record player isn't even hooked up rn. I buy records to have something tangible from the band, and to support them. Also if I ever have kids I think it'd be a cool thing to pass down.

I buy records to support the band in a slightly larger way than just buying a 12 dollar album off of Bandcamp or streaming. Plus, displaying them just looks really cool. I like being able to look at something physical and think that it's art that a band made that I can hold in my hands.

Release My Mind, My Garden Grows

I totally agree with the whole variant collector thing but only in certain instances. Like if its an album with very limited pressings (less than 1000 per pressing) and I see a bunch of people who have every variant, I tend to get a little annoyed (and probably more jealous than anything) because I'd kill to just have a single one of those variants so I can actually use it for its intended purpose. I'm a sucker for some good looking colored vinyl and will choose colored over basic black whenever possible.

Leonard Cohen and Nick Drake are both infinitely better songwriters than Bob Dylan.

The Cure are miles better than the Smiths.

I think Bon Iver's music is boring and 90% of his lyrics are dumb nonsense.

My unpopular opinion is that I don't connect with Radiohead. Never made it through a listen of Kid A or OK Computer, which is pretty embarrassing at this point for someone who considers them well versed in a lot of different eras and genres.

Yeah, Radiohead has never done anything for me. Like, I realize why people like them but it's just like "okay, youre technically good.....neat."

Anymore, the only Radiohead albums I like are Amnesiac, In Rainbows, King of Limbs, and A Moon Shaped Pool.

Courtney Barnett and Car Seat Headrest only had a few good songs on their respective last albums.

Silo's Choice is the best indie rock band in America.

I once asked Matt Berninger who he thought was better between the Replacements and Bruce Springsteen and he said the 'Mats.

That's not an unpopular opinion, ELF.

But if we're talking about bands that people know then i agree.

For me, their music doesn't go anywhere that's interesting to me. I realize that is a pretty harsh indictment and probably blasphemous to a lot of people, but that's how I feel.
