Player's Log: So I finished Caria Manor and I did some GOT-style political intrigue with Ranni and Selivus. Joined the former's service and I've been enlisted to help Blaidd in the underground, and I conned the former into thinking I'm his ally when I've really probably just fucked him over.

Anyway, tomorrow there's still a couple of bits in the northwest I want to look at and then I'll see if I can turn my attention to the southwest. I'm supposed to be able to enter there now, I think, and I have a dragon to see that seems to keep avoiding me for some reason. Maybe cause I'm gonna kill it.

And that might just wrap up the Lakes region. I think the next place my walkthrough wants me to go is underground, so I guess I'll find out what that life's all about.

 

Blaidd has the coolest armor in the game IMO

 

Okay, wait, I'm reading some stuff and correct me if I'm wrong, but it sounds like I can't get to that southwest region of Liurnia until I progress further with Ranni's questline? I guess that would make sense as I haven't seen a way to get up to where all that stuff is, but that sucks. I hate leaving stuff behind.

 

i moved Ranni's quest a bit, got her that dagger thingy to kill a god or whatever. wondering where to find her next, i'm also trying to figure out how to get up to the SWxLiurnia

 

You are correct. It sucks because I spent a lot of time going around that area looking for the path up haha.
Tbh there will be a point further on where you definitely won't be able to progress in her questline without online guidance.

 

Malenia down, took me 3 tries so it is clear as day that I significantly overpowered my character and ruined the one fight I was looking forward to the most lol. Incredible boss design, very intimidating moveset and I definitely believe in the rumours that she was originally going to be a Sekiro DLC boss (supposedly Lady Tomoe, the person who trained Genichiro and tried to cure a previous divine heir of their immortality in the same way Wolf is helping Kuro - Waterfowl Dance is surely built for being parried Sekiro-style rather than rolled through!)

Just gonna speed through endgame now and start afresh in NG+, excited to do more of a sorcery build this time around.

People have mentioned Elden Ring ruining other games going forward because of how high it's set the bar, but Sekiro was that game for me. It's made me "yeah, but" so many discussions about other games because of how much I love it and how much I'm seeking the high I got from playing it.

 

So I've been reading some stuff, and I feel a little dumb.

I had noticed that the guy who stood outside Gideon's door in Roundtable Hold died at some point, and I got his stuff.

Did not even occur to me to connect the dots that he was the guy who attacked me that one time.

Even when Gideon apologized, I thought it was like, "Sorry about the mess", not "Sorry my servant bumrushed you last time you entered the Hold".

To be fair, the guy wasn't really visually distinct, especially as a partially transparent red.

 

Me, I'll actually be glad to go back to some smaller games once I'm done.

Don't get me wrong, I love Elden Ring, but goddamn it's exhausting.

I felt the same after Elden Ring, really I feel the same with most games that large and Elden Ring was the least exhausting of them but the same idea still did apply

 

From games in general have ruined other games lol since elden ring which was my first all I’ve been able to play consistently is other from games.

 

Yeah it's pretty similar here, I tried to play through Nioh which is also very good and even still I ended up bailing to play through the Souls games I haven't finished yet because I appreciate FromSoft so much more haha.

 

Oof and you haven't even left Liurnia. Godspeed.

When i took a break i was outside the royal capital and now ive made it through to the mountaintop of giants and also finished the Ranni questline. Astel was a real bitch of a boss for me so im glad to finally be past that. Now im stuck on the god devouring serpent lol.

Elden Ring didn’t so much burn me out as much as make me obsess over it. I spent roughly 150 hours on my first play through and loved every second of it. One of the best games of all time.

 

I finally, finally, finally finally finally killed both Crucible Knights in Limgrave. The one in the Evergaol, and the one in the castle. Such a relief to put them behind me.

 

Player's Log: I have now done everything in Limgrave and Liurnia that is currently possible for me to do. Every Evergaol I can reach has been ransacked, and frankly none of them save the Crucible Knight of Limgrave were difficult.

My next stop then... I'm heading underground. Siofra River time!

 

Four kings are kicking my fucking ass, also realized I wasted a couple fire keepers souls by not turning them in but instead hitting use item thinking that’s all I had to do to get the estus boost. Ugh. Basically fucked with estus now lol. I can get two kings down but by then I’m out of estus and the third kills me before I can get any damage done. Using a super tanky strat but I might need to invest in a quicker weapon my +12 claymore is a beast but god it’s slow

 

Just platinumed this. Think I'm gonna try and get the other 3 Elden Lord endings (I did the Dung Eater one because I didn't want to collect all the seedbed curses again).

Journey 1 I did absolutely everything I could figure out blind, two handed strength build with the claymore, ended up getting the Age of Stars ending.

Journey 2 I watched a walkthrough and did every single questline in the game with two giant crushers, was an absolute breeze.

Journey 3 I respec'd to a magic build and absolutely smoked everything with Comet Azur.

Anyone have any other fun builds to try for journeys 4, 5, and 6? It's cool that although this game is absolutely massive and worth exploring, you can also run through the main quest line in a few hours if you want to.

 

Four Kings gave me a lot of trouble for a long time, I was also using the claymore. That's roughhhhhhh about your Estus lol
