    Rabiot is only 27?

If he could recover his PSG breakthrough form he’d be alright, I reckon. But at the same time… lol United

£15 million fee for him apparently. Wonder what his wages would be, isn't he on a chunk at Juve as he signed as a free agent?

As the person currently in first place in the Chorus league (despite making some terrible bench/starting decisions)... I'd like to demand we call the season closed.

The video of City fans chanting "That is how your cat felt" at Kurt Zouma yesterday is hilarious. Then when looking it up I saw Lens fans were meowing every time that Zouma touched the ball in their friendly a few weeks back.

Laporte (who owns multiple cats) posted a pic of his cat to his IG story after Zouma got the ball to the face.

like rabiot is shit but if he was being brought in as like the third midfielder signed in the window sure go for it. depth is nice given that we only have two senior players that can play in centre midfield. but uh, nah at that now.

That ten points should feel insurmountable and you should cave under the pressure now. Ahem.

Saw someone on twitter say that MUFC are just going through the same sort of era that Liverpool went through when they were signing dross like Charlie Adam/Ricky Lambert/Jay Spearing which is a hilarious observation, but also kinda shows them how they can get out of the slump - if they make sensible transfers on players with good attitudes, like Liverpool did with James Milner (free)/Jordan Henderson (<£20m)/Georginio Wijnaldum (£23m) rather than known disruptive pricks like Arnautovic and Rabiot that it may start to swing things back the other way?

Issue is I think we're just entering a new phase, so there's probably further pain to come. Think what Arnautović and Rabiot show is we're entering a phase where money can't be the answer to the problems anymore (not that it ever worked in the first place). Been thinking about it since those videos of Richard Arnold talking to the fans leaked, and he said something like the money is running out. Essentially we've spunked our money on dross for years, and now have to start working with a more limited budget due to repeated failures.

There'll be more and more Arnautović type signings until we accidentally hit on a couple that work out.

do a barcelona. sign a load of shit players and rescind their contracts in a couple of years time haha

    hmmm

It makes me think of that, not in terms of the dross we signed around that period but in terms of not having a proper, cohesive transfer policy. We had a mish mash for a few years up till Klopp. The unclear Comolli/Dalglish combination when we signed Adam, Carroll, Downing, Enrique within a six month period (we also signed Henderson then but for a while he was thought of as a duff signing too). Then when Rodgers came in, he refused to work with a DoF so we had that transfer committee where it quickly became clear that some of the transfers were committee picks and some of them were Rodgers picks. It wasn't until Klopp came in that Michael Edwards was finally given that authority for everything to run through him, with Klopp getting the final yes or no.

Anthony Modeste has signed for Dortmund as a (hopefully) short-term solution to Haller. He knows the league well and should bag goals in Dortmund's system.

I think, caveat of us being chaotic, that is the goal. We basically ripped up our scouting department that has been failing, and members of failing upwards, for years in April after Woodward finally stepped down.

  17. I think Spurs initially being turned down by Conte and having to go with Nuno was better for the club in the long run. The end of Nuno's short era was such a low point for the club I think it scared Levy lol he went back for Conte and gave him whatever he wanted. Conte and Paratici seem to have a great relationship and are making the signings together. The morale at the club has shifted so fast. There was an article over the weekend that said Levy considers Conte the best manager he's ever had and is under pressure to keep him happy. That is very different than how we operated in the past. And I don't think Levy has that mindset if we didn't experience the 3 months of Nuno.

    Dembele - Lewandowski - Raphinha
Ferran - Aubameyang - Ansu Fati

    Pedri - Busquets - Frenkie
    Gavi - Pjanic/Nico - Kessie

    Alba - Araujo - Kounde - Dest
    Alonso - Eric/Pique - Christiansen - Roberto

If Xavi gets his way and La Liga registers everyone, that’s the squad as it’s shaped up to be. Bernardo Silva seems like a luxury that isn’t needed at this point, not to mention *gestures at finances*, but he’s obviously class

Memphis, Braithwaite, and Umtiti seem to almost be out. Shows pretty clearly where the next targets will be next summer, too: wingbacks (probably Gaya and/or Moreno), a keeper, and a young center forward (probably a different Moreno or maybe Nkunku).

This is so Arsenal a few years ago. I’m intrigued to see how United deal with that situation compared to us.
