I have some actually valuable records that I wouldn't mind parting with, but when I think about the hassle of selling any of them...I'd rather just keep them.

 

I sling records around weekly, nothing hard about it.

 

but i'm lazy

also I'm always terrified that I packaged everything wrong or that the record will get damaged in the mail.

 

Yeah selling can be a pain and some buyers can be pretty wild about the condition of the record/how it arrives, especially on Discogs. I'm usually pretty lenient because I intend on listening to my records.

 

I was in this boat for years but I finally bit the bullet and started selling a few months back. Once you dive in, it’s a lot less intimidating than it seems! To be fair, I haven’t dealt with any nightmare customers as of yet though.

 

I am considering selling chunks of my collection to finance costs for a newborn at I have at home.

Need to make time to assess what to sell and best practices of how to package it.

 

Best way to package a record to be shipped: take the record out of the inner sleeve and place on top of the record cover with the inner sleeve still inside. Sandwich with stiff cardboard and place in mailer box.

 

If you have a bunch of records you wanna get rid of I’d suggest biting the bullet and getting some mighty mailers or equivalent. Super quick and easy to pack most records in them and you don’t need extra reinforcement or anything. I also got a big roll of “fragile” stickers to slap on each side for a few bucks. Worth it for the piece of mind that everything gets to the buyer intact. I’ve never had a problem after selling/shipping 30ish LPs.

 

Until someone on discogs bitches that the records get scratches this way. I’ve mailed probably 300 records and no matter how I do it, someone will complain.

I was curious and looked back at my emails and merchnow sent me this in April-
"We have just received an update that the vinyl has been delayed in production. They are not set to arrive at our facility until the end of August. Orders will ship as soon as possible after the vinyl arrives at our facility."

Dirt may have been posted before it should have and taken down. Amazon's pre-order link is also broken. Sounds like it's being accounced on Aug 12th and coming out Sept 23rd.
