I'm losing it at these people being so upset with the band. I've seen several people saying "It's so shitty of them that they leaned into the announcement so hard", ignoring the fact that there was no announcement to begin with, just a stupid speculative claim by a radio station. Blink probably wasn't even aware of an "announcement" until today and were just trying to sell their anniversary merch.

Maybe Tom "leaned into it" but like.... he's been trying to ride blink's buzz for 7 years now.

 

The discord is a mess. Mark is talking hate on cupcakes (how dare him really) and people keep replying demanding Matt/Tom answers and I'm getting flamed for replying to those replies telling them to stop thinking they're entitled to answers and wait for official news lolol. Love fanbases for things.

 

People are stupid.

Since Mark is still recovering from cancer, building up stamina and strength, I think little pop up acoustic shows could be fun. Don't even need all the members for that. Streams too could be neat. Sell the digital tickets and all proceeds can go to a charity.

I still think the most frustrated I've been with the fandom was that time circa 2015 when someone uploaded footage of blink rehearsing and jamming in 2004. It was completely meaningless, but people had themselves convinced it was a demo from the upcoming album because "it couldn't be a coincidence" and it was all over YouTube.

Every time I'm surprised at how far fans of this band will reach from such little/meaningless info, I look back at that.

 

No I know but aren't they mostly twitch stream related and subs go to charity? I just mean a larger scale thing, I dunno just saying things! hahah

 

I hope I never like a band enough to concoct tinfoil hat rabbit hole conspiracy theories about their careers.
