what other matches are worth watching?

 

Becky and Bianca for sure

 

Becky/Bianca was solid. And if you're curious, the Logan Paul match was fun.

 

Darby is still young and dumb and so willing to do spots that look really cool but have a high risk of going wrong

Sami is 2 years shy of 40 and had already gone through several shoulder injures.

I honestly don't think its really the WWE holding Sami back as much as its Sami getting older and realizing he both physically cannot and also does not want to work the same style he did in the indies/NXT

Vince originally rejected the Bayley faction a little while back, which was part of why Io was wary to sign and Dakota was released. Iterations included Raquel and Kay Lee Ray as well

 

Sami is probably the best physical storyteller in the industry, Omega aside. Maybe people remember the spot where he "turned his ankle" in a match after Finn was hurt and they had to crown a new champ...but he had Reddit exploding with "not another!" posts. He's just got that complete package. I mean, as maybe the purest babyface I can humanly think of, he managed to get a crackpot conspiracy theorist heel character over because his working style just works.

I dont blame him for re-signing, but, with what he can do promo and storytelling wise, I actually think he has more longevity in AEW than WWE. He could be doing that QT Marshall or Frankie Kazarian type role for a LONG time in AEW.

 

idk man I rather see the dude who’s been on smackdown and doing a relatively good job as champ over some old ass part timer who generally wrestles 5 minute matches four times a year

 

This is basically the contract Roman signed

Was reported like May/June...but, I mean, same effect. Im glad he retained, but, mostly so whoever beats him can hopefully use that mantle to make a show interesting. Cause Roman is entering that Cena/Brock/Taker time of disappearing for a few months here and there

and I’m sure he will drop it drew in September anyways. Or theory will cash in.

 

Ah, fair enough. Roman just signed a big part time deal but he has been grinding a ton the past 5 or 6 years.

 

yeah man he definitely deserves the lighter schedule, so hopefully he drops the belt to drew next month

 

I mean on WWE he is currently rubbing shoulders with the top guy in the entire company. Certainly a better position than Marshall or Frankie are in with AEW. And WWE has always had a spot for people who are good on the mic. So while obviously I wish he was with AEW cause its not worth watching 2 hours of smackdown just for a few minutes of Sami each week and they could probably use his talents better simply because they are better at using talent... of that black and gold nxt era talent... he's one of the ones where I think WWE can actually do a reasonably decent job utilizing what he brings to the table.

I’m watching it now and the opening is awesome, Becky/Bianca was awesome! Seeing all of the nxt girls in the ring together was just awesome. That was a total HHH move.

 

No way is Roman dropping the title they are holding out for the match with the rock at wm

 

Man the usos in aew would be bonkers.

 

I think Becky has a legitimate shoulder injury, not confirmed yet but she was still selling it backstage

 

Wouldn’t be surprised. Bianca dumped her right on it at one point

Was hoping for Sasha to arrive to back up Bianca. Would have been huge.
I enjoyed the show, just 1 hour too long, but that's been typical for last decade.
Lesnar has been super fun this feud

 

It's fixable too because that extra hour isn't because of too many matches, it's the video packages and pointless segments they do (Kane/Riddle and Seth)
