Question: When you're in a relationship, do the long pauses between text messages still instigate a fear of them having sex with other people? Or does that dynamic completely fall away once you've secured them as your partner?

 

I think it completely depends on whether or not you actually trust your partner. The title won't alter that. (I've experienced both.)

Note: I just popped in, if this was a response to a different conversation then that's 100% my bad.

 

If someone isn't texting me or responding fast enough I don't worry about what they're doing. Just that they're not interested

 

No, it's okay. I was asking because the previous pages have had guys who say something to the effect of: "She goes long periods of times without texting me. She probably is out with some guy." And that is why I asked the question.

 

It's not so much a fear that she's sleeping with other people, it's more a worry that she's not actually in to me, and I'm just not capable of picking up on signals.

 

I'm the worlds worst about opening a text message and forgetting to respond. Sometimes I respond and don't realize I didn't send it. Get this a lot:

 

I will be sad at 6:00 tonight, does that work

actually how do people even meet ppl to like? i literally hate every single person i come into contact with most of the time.

 

I'm so in awe of ppl who are constantly dating for this reason. I never find ppl I like let alone a constant stream of them.

 

I'm too reluctant to engage in conversation with people I don't know.

Too exhausting.

 

Related to that: I went on one Tinder date and it was so bad that I just never want to go through that again.

I have a crush on this girl and I hope she and her long distance boyfriend break up.

 

I haven't had a crush since Highschool.

 

I will say that the one good thing about Tinder is that it has completely cured my deep fear of rejection because it happens so often

 

Currently struggling with wanting to pursue a relationship with a girl I'm really into, but also wondering where I'll be when I graduate college. I don't want things to escalate, only to move away in a few months. Kinda just stuck.

Similar to what Chris said to me earlier, you need something to occupy your mind so you won't fall into thinking about it too much. Turn your phone on silent/do not disturb and focus on other things/people. Multiple outlets tend to decrease feelings of insecurity/dependency
