They may also figure anyone who wants to own that movie on Blu-Ray is ready to buy it already. It has a built-in audience, they don’t need to do or spend much to promote it. I don’t think it’s some conspiracy, though letting the saga of a bad movie with a lot of controversial headlines fade as soon as possible could be part of it too.

I had no idea the Snyder Cut was being released on blu-ray until someone posted it in here. I assumed it was an HBO Max exclusive. And I pay attention to this kind of stuff. It's not outlandish to think that what they're doing is intentional.

Of course it’s intentional, that’s what marketing strategy is, I just think the real reasons are more boring than the suggested reasons, whatever element of truth there is

Finally watched the Snyder cut. It was fine. Better than the theatrical, but that was a low bar.

So, uh, in case anyone didn’t see this article, Joss Whedon opened his mouth and decided to go with the “woe is me” Ryan Adams approach whilst also managing to successfully channel his raging narcissism that denies him the ability to admit his massive shortcomings. The very last line in particular is a pretty finite nail in the coffin if I’ve ever seen one. Article is behind a paywall, so Terrio posted screenshots of the entire thing. Thread:

I have seen two responses from a few people . 1) “nuh uh! They said they were making sure they’re weren’t bots! There’s no way anyone could have found a way through their incredible security!”
    2) “it was a fan vote. Fans made the boys. What’s the big deal”

    so hilarious

  17. Was that petty, or because of this? I'm genuinely asking. Haven't read the full story yet.

Likely played a part. It’s all a mess and DC desperately needs to move far far away from all of this.

Not seeing the Leto Joker again alone is priceless

This random resurfacing of Zack Snyder Discourse is so tedious.

Personally, I'm glad he's not doing more DC work because I think every director who can successfully transition into doing their own thing instead, should. Filmmakers with their own voice (for better or worse) doing their own spin on established characters is cool; building a following doing that and then taking it to something they built is better.

Snyder doesn’t really build anything though, I think Army of the Dead is his only feature to not be adapted from previous material. I’d guess he’ll be attached to a big IP soon.
