No, no it's really not. It's lazy as fuck to think that, actually. But it's helpful to your point so it's easier to be lazy there.

Well, you drop "lols" all over the place when Dom (or anyone) criticizes the idea that voting against trump is some kind of selfless act to save oppressed people, and you don't really seem to understand why someone would find the idea that "it could be worse!" distasteful.

an argument in favor of preserving the status quo of murdering black people because there is a theoretical worse alternative sure seems to imply that people should be happy that it isn't worse.

also, there is an eyeroll emoji here :eyeroll:

Be kind; everyone is on their own journey.

Which is crazy because you would think Police would go into these situations knowing they're being watched. I'm curious if police convictions have risen since the use of these body cams, but it seems every article includes the words 'paid administrative leave' and we never hear about it again. Media only cares about the immediate impact, and not the lack of accountability months/years later, which to me, is a huge piece of this puzzle.

If you give David zero benefit of the doubt, I get the responses he's received.

If you give David benefit of the doubt, there's been a lot of piling on and strawmen.

I drop smarmy lols when people try to insinuate I'm whitesplaining when I'm not. You can point out when someone is being misleading purposely in their posts. I rarely, if ever, "lol" when someone "criticizes the idea that voting against Trump is some kind of selfless act to save oppressed people". I'll lol when someone else gets super smarmy about it, but otherwise, it's a decent discussion with no need for lols.
I'm not saying "it could be worse", I'm saying it will be worse. Beyond that, pointing out that it could, or will, be worse, is not the same thing as saying you should be okay with how it is now. As far as I can tell, no one here is saying that, even the random ass right wing trolls we get that wander in.

Again, no one is arguing we should 'preserve the status quo'. And certainly no one is saying people should be happy with the way it is now. This is getting to be like arguing with Tomi Lahren with all the strawmen. If you want an answer to your stupid question about the problem+hillary, I'll say that yes I believe the chances federal legislation pass to attempt to address the problem is 50/50, but that even if said legislation does pass, my guess is any "gains" made would be offset by increased strain in race relations+police getting more resistant to pressure and acting out. That being said, nothing was ever said about voting for Hillary. Just about the insinuation that things under Trump being worse is a false narrative of some sort or not worth pointing out simply because the problem persists today.

That shit don't count, just looks like someone trying to avoid eye contact. I need motion in my eyeroll emoji.

  8. Polls continuing to not be great. Going to be a literal toss up very soon if the next set don't change. People are underestimating Trumps chances, what he can do when elected, and the number of people he can hurt.

  17. They'll have a lot more to protest if he wins. Guess they want the practice. I'll remember that with every SCOTUS decision in the next few decades that hurts people.

I don't understand why not voting for a D or an R is a "protest vote".

Out of Clinton, Trump, Stein, and Johnson; which candidate best represents your views. Vote for that person.

The whole "this election is too important to not vote for [insert lesser of two evils candidate here]" has been happening in literally every election I can remember. Vote for the candidate who best represents your views.
