Kind of Like Spitting. There was a mini-return with a split EP a few years ago and then at least a full length planned afterward but nothing ended up happening.

Doing some checking, I guess Clayton from Thriving Ivory is now a solo artist under the name City Wolf? Haven't checked out any of it; didn't even know this was going on.

SafetySuit is a shame because they were putting out some singles in 2018 and 2019, and then I can only assume the same thing happened to them that happened to everyone else. Hadn't heard if they split or not, but they haven't touched their social media in like a year so...

    It's a bummer.

I don't expect anyone here to agree, but one band that faded out fast that I think is a shame is the band Mad At Gravity.

They put out one album in 2002, before similar sounding bands like Breaking Benjamin and Three Days Grace took off, and they had two songs in the movie Reign Of Fire, which is where I first heard them.

I thought Resonance, the album, was really solid, but the band fizzled out after their lead singer decided he wanted to split and they failed to find a replacement.

Years later, from what I remember, it came out that the lead singer was kind of embarrassed by the band or some such, although I think that must've passed since he's made posts related to the band since then.

Anyway, just one of those bands that I'll always wonder what could've been if they'd made more material.

Apt comparison, I think The Bled might be heavier but it's been forever since I listened to them

  16. I really only know one song by this band well (Walk Away), but they are one of those random one-off bands from adolescence that always stuck with me. I really liked that song and will revisit it every few years and see if there's any activity from the band. Pretty sure I listened to the full album at some point but I should probably revisit it!

Yeah, unfortunately in the post-grunge boom of the early 00s, there were a lot of bands with hints of creativity that never got off the ground.

Some, like Fingertight and Sloth, only lasted one album before collapsing. A real shame that such talented individuals never had the chance to blossom further.

Yes! Submersed! Wind-Up had a knack for finding bands like that. Dust For Life, Edgewater, Big Dismal, Boy Hits Car...

Anyway, I'm pretty sure the guitarist and drummer are currently part of Tremonti's solo band.

And the lead singer is in a band Blisskrieg with former Days Of The New/Tantric members.

  20. Wow, Fingertight... another one where I only really knew the single but it left a mark on me. Guilt still rips!

They were so good. They felt to me like Our Lady Peace in terms of being all over the place dynamically, and the singer had a bit of a Raine vibe to me.

i think it's just the throaty vocals that make me think of the bled. they're definitely heavier.

Whatever happened to Cute Is What We Aim For? Randomly thought of them and listened to The Same Old Blood Rush With A New Touch. I really liked it when I was 13 but it doesn’t really hold up now. Practice Makes Perfect off Rotation is still pretty catchy though.
