I’ve always been a believer that Buddha is indeed an album and canon in the BCU. It’s always been in stores and widely available. So it counts.

If Matt is actually out, when Tom returns I do not think they'll go back to the DED sound (as much as I would love that), Tom's songwriting has changed since AND I can't imagine Mark and Trav dropping Feldman/other producers from that scene. So I think it would be pretty different from the first reunion era. I hope Matt stays though.

 

I personally don’t see them working with feldy if Tom’s back. I do think they will work with a producer though and “try” to recapture the magic of untitled. But this is just if Tom is truly back.

 

I think that just nothing has even been said about blink with the health issues. Matt sounds like he wants to still do blink, and am guessing Mark would rather Matt/Feldy when blink starts going again

Orrrrr Mark and Travis will work with Feldy in LA and Tom will work in San Diego with Ilan and his brother. Because lord knows they wouldn’t all be writing and recording in the same room the entire time. Ha.

 

I find it weird that Mark hasn’t said anything about this. The influx of “Tom is coming back” rumors has exponentially increased and the Matt comments as well. I feel like in the past, he’s brushed them off because it’s only been a handful, but now it’s kinda like more rumors every day.

 

Why would he? He probably gets asked hundreds of times a day when Tom is coming back since Tom left/quit or when they are going to tour again or have a new album. The Matt comment was a reply to a comment on Matt’s IG post that Mark probably hasn’t even seen and even if he did so what? Matt likes to mess with fans like when he originally posted BIOMY in the picture of blink with Tim or talking about SR 71s during the recording of Is This Thing Cursed?.

If/when Tom does come back I would rather it be a complete surprise like “hey Tom is back and here’s a new single/tour announcement/album announcement” on a random Tuesday instead of what happened the last time when they said they were back and two years later we got a mediocre album.

 

It must suck to be in his position. On the one hand, the rumors will never stop no matter what he says, but the minute he decides it's not worth it, that's taken as a sign "the rumors must be true".

 

I guess I’m coming from the perspective of his Discord server which he is very active in and has received a blow up of these posts/rumors/etc. He hasn’t posted since the original South Africa BS came out.

Or he’s just living his life and doesn’t care and I’d be more than happy for him if that’s the case haha. Throw it all to the wind. Wish I could do that sometimes.

Yes, definitely sucks when he’s probably heard “When is Tom coming back” in every interview 2003+

 

I’d love it if the official return is a complete surprise and we get a comeback single immediately, but I honestly don’t think Tom can keep his mouth shut for that long lol

 

Hey! I'm new to this thread and don't know much about the group history, but i love their songs. My favs are, without a doubt, "All the Small Things" and "San Diego". Also, "I Miss You" reminds me to some past romance and makes me cry.

 

I don’t follow his Discord stuff, I mainly get my blink info from this thread haha. It’s probably just a coincidence though he hasn’t posted.

 

I just think it would be for the best considering what happened the last time. FOB did their reunion announcement perfectly back in 2013 (or whatever the year was) with the announcement they were returning, had a really good single ready with an album and tour announcement.

 

dont forget the tour started literally the same night they announced it haha

 

I believe Derek too some time off for himself personally, so it freed up some time for Dan and Matt to work on other things. They even did a 3 song Ep without Derek, who’s returned.

I’ve always felt Matt, Dan and Derek are Alk3 first and foremost. Dan’s last solo album was fantastic though.

I get this is a Blink thread, but Alk3 are a good band too and it’s Matt’s band with Dan and Derek where he has more say and probably less drama/pressure/most likely closer friendships

 

Yeah I feel like we’re reaching the point that this should be addressed, unless they either truly don’t know or are trying to keep things secret.
