I’m sorry but I’ve done vocal takes and I can’t get over this.

you do them so many times. You listen back so many times. Does it fit? Does it flow? Does it sound right?

this made it past AT LEAST 5 other people. And they were all just like “yeah that’s good.”

 

I just feel like there would be unlimited different ways to convey this song differently without using that lyric.

 

None of these new songs have really captured me and this is just disappointing at this point.

 

They really are leaning into to the third eye blind influence. Hopefully there is some semi-charmed life style scatting to make it more palatable.

This is one of those rare circumstances where I will be removing a song from my library on an album and just pretending it was never there.

I almost want to think/say “maybe the person who submitted the lyrics just misheard a word / line?” but based on Jason’s reaction it seems like nope lol that’s it

and yeah that note about girls being different on the road is woof and idk how you’d mishear and entire line anyway lol

Those lyrics are simultaneously not as bad as I thought they were going to be while also being infinitely worse, somehow. Crazy how they are capable of some pretty great lyrics but then... this.....

 

Yeah I’m shocked that they actually thought people would enjoy or resonate with these lyrics. Sounds like something Nickelback or some other cock rock band would write.

 

Honestly the music kinda sounds like those bands too… definitely not a high point for them to put it mildly

 

I think they are going for that Third Eye Blind random line like in their song Blinded " go down on you for an hour" but yeah I don't know what to make of these lyrics. Even without the explicit lines the message seems opposite of what they usually go for. It's like it's intentional to get a rise maybe

Lol is that even something people say? Feels like some effort might have been put into tinkering with the line just to fit that image specifically into the song. And the result is not great.

 

or the similar line in the infinitely more popular third eye blind song. At least those songs have a lot of other lyrics to distract.
