Don't underestimate nostalgia. Motley seems to always pull a large crowd when they tour.

Don’t underestimate Gen X’s desire to relive the glory days.

Motley Crue comeback along with the other bands is a pretty big package. Not shocking it’s doing this good.

Motley Crue is pretty corny, but they are undeniably massive. Between the Gen X fanbase, the hype they get from bad butt-rock bands, and people just looking to "tick a box" saying that they saw them... I'm not surprised this is selling the way it is.

It doesn't hurt that the opening acts are relatively varied too. A few co-workers of mine are going to see 2/3 of the opening acts with the Crue just being an added bonus for them.

I'm sure the success of Pam & Tommy on Hulu, as well as the Crue Netflix film a couple years ago helped generate interest.

Any idea how Ohio is for lovers is selling? I've never been to that venue but I see it holds 20,000. $100 isn't bad for all the acts you get but if it's selling poorly I may hold out for Groupon or StubHub deals. Thanks!

So I guess Pantera announced they're touring in 2023. Considering both brothers are deceased, this seems like the ultimate cash grab.

I doubt Phil and Rex could tour as Pantera without the blessing of the Brothers' family. I'm guessing Zakk Wylde will play guitar and it'll be billed as more of a tribute to the Brothers. I think everyone going knows it's not really Pantera but it's as close as anyone who didn't get to see them 20 plus years ago will get.

That Pantera "reunion" feels so wrong

You can have Phil and Rex perform Pantera songs with all star players behind them, call them something completely different, advertise you are playing Pantera songs and sell the same number of tickets.

The Higher is a band I honestly never thought would ever come back.

    The intrusive whisper fascinates me

I misread this as “i just don’t think The Cure should be touring at this point” and was surprised confused

Yeah honestly. Bill it “Phil, Rex and friends celebrate the music of Pantera” and it would still sell in a heartbeat. Especially if people like Zakk Wylde are on the lineup

  20. I didn’t know they were even gone. But I really liked a couple of their songs back in the day haha.

They did this last year (minus Rex). It was billed as Phil and the Illegals Vulgar Display of Pantera or something like that. I saw it. It was a great show tbh, but yeah I don't support a "Pantera reunion" and don't give Phil your money. (I got in the show with a comp ticket)

And it was a sold out show but it was like 1200 cap. If this new tour is billed more as a "reunion" even if that just means Phil and Rex on stage playing Pantera songs together again, with whoever on guitar and drums, I think they could probably mostly fill 10k ampitheaters with a popular support like Lamb of God or something but I find it to be a little greasy.

I'm surprised Echosmith are still around. I feel like they were a band that was "supposed" to bow up, but never really did.

Probably doesn't help that the drummer was a little creep from what I remember.
