Drove up the weekend before the 4th. So much traffic in Connecticut, but not too bad on the Cape.

Stayed in Wilmington DE on the way up. Isn't that (near?) where you are @David87?

yeah it is haha. Where did you stay? The city isn’t really known for a ton of hotels, maybe you stayed in the north Wilmington burbs (everything around here just has Wilmington as their address even if they aren’t in the actual city haha)

Where I'm staying is literally right next to the road that leads to that bridge. And I will say that 1) it's not an easy turn to miss, even in the dark, and 2) you're on that road for a few minutes before you get to the bridge, so even if you do miss the turn there's plenty of time to notice.

We were on the riverfront at Homewood Suites, kinda near the baseball stadium.

I remember talking my wife out of going out to dinner for my birthday (March 14th) in 2020, and her asking if I really thought it wasn't safe to go into a restaurant, and me telling her not only should we prob not go to a restaurant but that I wanted to pull the kids out of school too. Around the same time at work I was trying to convince my close coworkers that this was a big deal and them thinking I was fucking crazy. Like absolutely looney. Then spending insane amounts of money on illicit N95 and KN95 masks, as "Automotive Paint Supplies" on eBay and stuff like that while they were still telling normal people that masks weren't needed.

ah yeah I forgot about those down there, they’re relatively new over the last 5-10 years. Part of the whole riverfront revitalization they’ve been doing for the past 15ish years now. That stadium is the Wilmington Blue Rocks stadium, I worked there for like 4-5 seasons haha. Doing funnel cake/lemonade and then I was the cotton candy guy. Still probably my favorite job to this day

Yeah, it was pretty nice! There was supposed to be a baseball game that night (July 2nd) with fireworks but it was raining when we got there and it was canceled. It stopped a couple hours before it was supposed to though so we took the kids and dog on a walk on the riverfront and got some food from one of the restaurants there.

We weren't there long at all though, got in at 5pm Saturday and were on the road by 8am Sunday.

Fucking worthless administration. At least get caught trying. You'll end up helping some people in the short term and buying time to hopefully get something longer term in place or at least in motion.

yeah the riverfront stroll is a nice little walk and there are some decent non-chain or small local chain joints there to pick from. Docklands is a big party/live cover music bar and most of the other places are low key restaurant oriented

I have absolutely no actual knowledge about this subject, but I always assumed gas stations made money on volume of gas sold, not the price of the actual gas per gallon. Like they pay a certain amount for the gas themselves, and it goes up when the price goes up and down when the price goes down, but they make about the same profit off the gas no matter how much it costs the driver per gallon. It wasn't gas stations just jacking the price per gallon up themselves.
