even if this one is underwhelming as well, I'll still hold out hope that the album has a cut or two that are worth it

 

JT better fucking deliver on this one… his handful of features the past few years don’t give me a ton of confidence but I feel like he’s gotta be in his element with this sound. We’ll see.

 

i am sure there will be some cuts but like funk wav was a perfect 10/10

 

Stay With Me leaked a full week early lol… I’m into it!! Halsey is kind of a weird fit, but JT & Pharrell totally glide on this production, so relieved this is good. The whole outro is classic JT.

 

I only heard like a minute of it but yeah it gave me true funk wav vibes

 

Song is over 5 minutes long, definitely classic JT vibes imo. Keeps growing on me with each listen.

 

Apparently the official version of Stay With Me dropping next week is shorter than the leaked version… 3:49 instead of 5:13, so it cuts the whole JT solo outro. Heard that part might be a separate interlude track that follows Stay With Me on the album, but still really stupid imo, that outro section is excellent.

 

maybe 3:49 is just the radio edit and both versions will be released

Justice for the extended version

 

Yeah definitely the best of the 3. This version is 3:49 so the outro discussed certainly is missing, I assume it's got to be on the album as an extended version or a second track

 

@Phantoms you're definitely right that the outro is great and should be part of the track, but yeah after listening to it I can imagine it being on the tracklist as "Stay With Me (Outro)" immediately after the single.

I know that JT's next album will most likely just have Timberland and Pharrell production again, but yeah... him working with modern producers would be a good change in direction for him.

 

I appreciate that the music videos are keeping the same visual vibes from Vol 1 as well
