Yeah those weird mascots are a rare XC2 L

 

Yeah dude give it another shot, I too, am much older and wiser, but was also familiar with the combat and it's clicking already this time. I'm only in chap 3 but now when they show new mechanics I won't get overwhelmed as fuck.

 

Kirby is great but I’m also back on my Cuphead bullshit. never beat it and that needs to happen.

 

About halfway through Metroid Dread. Post-midway exposition dump and now on my 2nd Chozo Soldier on the way to get the Super Missile. These Chozo soldiers might be the most frustrating bossfights i've ever encountered in a Nintendo game. Absolutely dreading (lol get it?) both that double Chozo battle i read about and eventually facing Raven Beak.

 

Dread making you think all E.M.M.Is are deactivated and then bringing them back 3 or 4 levels later even harder was a great move to create a false sense of security in players.

 

I’m in the camp where I think XC1 has the edge over XC2. XC2 is great and I enjoy it, but the gacha elements and some of the field skills bring it down for me

 

I do hate the field skills and having to change blades just to make the required levels for them

Has anyone played rwby?

It looks like a game I would enjoy but somehow I completely missed it when it was released last year

 

Is there any reason I should buy monster hunter generations ultimate for switch or any of the other 3ds games? I think it’s the last day they’re on sale

 

Are you talking about Grimm Eclipse? If so, it's actually older than you think. Originally came out in 2016 on PC.

Anyway, I own it but I haven't played it myself. I did however watch Achievement Hunter play some of it once upon a time (because RWBY is a Rooster Teeth production and members of Achievement Hunter voice some of the characters).

It seemed cool but I've read the gameplay loop is somewhat shallow and it sounds like the difficulty escalates quickly. I think I only got it cause I like anime, Rooster Teeth, and it was cheap. It's very hack and slash, so I think if you don't like those kinds of games, beware.

I'm more interested in the upcoming RWBY game, Arrowfell, being made by WayFoward and Arc System Works.

 

Has anyone played No More Heroes 3? It’s half off on the eShop sale and I’m thinking about picking up either that or Tokyo Mirage Sessions, which I’ve been wanting to try forever. I enjoyed the other two NMH at the time but they haven’t aged particularly well.

 

I’ve mostly heard bad things about no more heroes, unfortunately. I haven’t played it myself, though.

My TV wasnt on game mode and my timing was so fucked up while salvaging, changed to game mode and it's such a difference.

 

yeah! I have the original on PS4 and definitive edition on switch. It’s mainly a co-op (local and online) game but you can do single player if you want. Single player isn’t properly balanced as it will take you longer to beat and the enemies you encounter are pretty much damage sponges.

 

NMH3 is pretty much a more advanced NMH1 if that makes any sense lmao. The open world is back but it’s pretty barren and the story is ridiculous as usual. The combat is the highlight for many people here, me included. It is one of my favourite games of all time but I can see why its divided. There are PS5/4, Xbox O/S/X and steam versions of the game coming in October.

 

I want to finish XC2 but I put it down a while ago and I’m somewhere in chapter 3 or 4 and not sure I remember a lot of what’s going on or how to play. Hate that I’ll probably restart it lol

 

I just did my first big chain attack combo that looped a couple times in XC2, damn that felt good.

 

For anyone that has played both of them, do you see much reason to do xc1 before xc2?

I’ve seen the typical “you’ll understand more about what’s happening in xc2 if you start with xc1”, but so often those sorts of sentiments come from purists and I was wondering if it’s really that much of a big deal as far as the story goes since it seems to be different casts of characters.

 

Downloading Phoenotopia Awakening right now. Been wanting to scratch that Zelda itch for a while.

 

Complete bullshit imo. You might gain some additional context but I barely played xc1 but I understood xc2 just fine.

 

I've played a good amount of both and I don't see the need to play them in order at all.
