  3. TLDI season finale tonight and it's been renewed for season five)! Sounding like Toxic Avenger, Darkman, Psycho Goreman, Fade to Black, The Monster Squad, or Nightbreed. Some combination of two of those lmao.

  4. Invaders From Mars has been on my list for a while. Pretty big to see them get the Carpenter staples.

What is the format of the show? I've never given it a shot and don't have shudder at the moment.

  6. It basically runs from 9pm to 2am or so, sometimes a little shorter. it's a double feature, usually themed. Joe Bob Briggs usually goes on some unrelated rant that eventually ties into introducing the movie, where he does Drive-In Totals (number of kills, etc.) and then they show the movie and break back to him talking about the production or sometimes interviewing guests from the movie every 20 minutes or so. They show a mix of new and old horror trailers in between the movies, and then do the same thing with the second movie. Sometimes there's a goofy song or skit related to one of the movies and they usually ask Joe Bob a question from his mailbag. When the episodes hit Shudder after airing live, each movie is broken up individually, so it might be easier to give the show a shot that way if a double-feature seems too intimidating.

I have never made it through an entire airing start to finish and I don't know how people do.

Also JBB is unbelievably long-winded, but also unbelievably knowledgeable. I'm sure he's reading off some cue cards at certain points, but for his age and to still be spouting off the stuff he does puts me consistently in awe. I met him and Darcy after one of his initial "How Rednecks Saved Hollywood" runs and the dude is truly o l d.

  9. Probably just because I look forward to it every Friday during the season. I usually do double-features on the weekends anyways (TLDI or not), and alcohol helps. I watch party with a friend virtually and we have a good time.

  11. We don't always make it through either lol. She fell asleep last week (the second movie was long) and I fell asleep during the Nosferatu episode. I try to nap when I get home from work on Fridays. Would be interesting to start a Horror Watch Party thread on this site though, not just for TLDI :eh:

edit: or maybe a Discord? Would be open to all. That's what we usually use for watch parties, just text in real time

I usually make it through the first one and about half the second before I call it a night.
They always put the episodes up on demand later so it's easy to catch up.

My favorite thing they do on Shudder is pull out all the Joe Bob stuff and upload that on it's own under "Just Joe Bob".

Takes them a while but there's so much up now that there's plenty to watch in the meantime. They even give you time codes for the breaks so you could watch along on your own if they happen to not have the rights to that particular movie at the time.

His "Demons" rant is still one of my favorites.

I would sign on for something like this if we had enough interest and it made sense.

saw that one. loved it. I guess I'm looking for more overlooked stuff, I've seen almost all the major horror films that have been released this year.

The Sadness is fucking sick. Girlfriend tapped out at the 30 minute mark, but I'm loving it.

    The Sadness is indeed wild.

Also, came to the realization this morning that I have never seen Romero's OG Dawn of the Dead. I've seen Night, Day, Land, Diary, and Survival. It's not streaming anywhere either, to my knowledge.
