Listen to it again asap. So good although I could do without the interlude/talking non actual music tracks even if they are short.

it just feels unlike anything else, and completely pulls it off. It's just the right amount of off-kilter that you're thrown off a bit, but everything still has excellent hooks and keeps you reeled in

ok but the Tom DeLonge phone call is pretty great.

and I have a soft spot for the Raleigh interludes being a Sublime fan

Haha yeah Tom’s cameo is funny even though Evolution is probably my least favorite track on the album.

I also enjoyed how when blink said their new single was Up All Night back in 2011 people posted the “leak” of the song and it was Tom singing the chorus of UL’s Up All Night.

Got my vinyl two weeks early. I am not kidding, this may be their best album. And I have been a lifelong staunch Elva advocate. This thing hits suuuuper hard and they sound hungry as hell. Hope it does well for them.

All I've ever wanted was Music in High Places on vinyl.

If you have to ask, you can't afford it

I'm actually really surprised how good this new album is- 1000% better than the garbage Eve 6 put out in recent memory. Also random side note the beginning of Magnetic sounds a lot like one of the very few Escape the Fate songs I enjoy

Need more time with this, but I probably could've done without the Fleetwood Mac cover. Throws the whole album off in my opinion.

Listened to Elva again the other day. Really cool varied record that I think unfortunately got stuck as not quite pop-punk enough for the Blink182/NFG/Sum 41 crowd at the time and also did not fit into the new scene of Starting Line, Finch, Something Corporate, Thursday, Thrice, etc. at the time so it kind of fizzled. A bunch of labor issues, drug problems and band drama delayed their follow-up and the moment just unfortunately passed.

I quite like the album, but the Fleetwood Mac cover throws you for a little bit of a loop, not a bad cover by any means just out of place a little bit.

Enjoying this as well. Wasn't sure what an Unwritten Law album would sound like in 2022.

    Highlight so far is Magnetic.

Magnetic is really catchy. I'm surprised it wasn't the lead single. The closer (Chrome and Glass) is an immediate standout track as well - that chorus is massive.

Considering they haven't released new music in over a decade, along with having another indie label change, I'm concerned this album likely won't get much attention even from casual listeners of this band. I hope I'm wrong, of course.

Seriously everyone is at the top of their game. Johnny Grill DESTROYS on bass and Chris Lewis from Fenix TX is on fire throughout. Russo has always been an absolute ace with melodies so I hear tracks like "Beggars" and "Magnetic" and am just like HOW were these guys not bigger? (The answer is well-tread territory, as was touched on a few comments above, but still) If there was any justice in this world, those two tracks would be the biggest songs of UL's career. Regardless, just really nice to hear a record this good and this exciting from a band that's been around as long as they have.
