I actually prefer a super early flight just so I can get to the airport bar and it not be crowded and down a few drinks peacefully before getting on the plane.

Re: Billie Joe Armstrong renouncing his citizenship. Is that actually a thing that a person can do, or is it basically yelling the word "bankruptcy?"

 

I have no real knowledge but seems like something that's really easy to do if you're super rich!

 

You can - you would have to become a citizen of another nation or become "stateless" and might need a visa to visit/work in the US - but I honestly doubt he's actually going to go through with it.

You can get dual citizenship but I don't think you can like rip up your passport

 

for your average joe whose quality of life could greatly improve i could see the draw. id be lying if i said i havent played w the idea of emigrating. seems like a empty gesture for a super rich guy to do that for political reasons though. uks not exactly an antithesis of fascism rn either. hes also gonna have to find new powercords for all his amps

I've been very seriously looking into emigrating, but I can't find a country where the process is fairly simple. I'm more than willing to give up my US citizenship to make it possible, However, it seems a lot of countries want people who have specialized degrees (an MBA isn't considered specialized by most countries).

Any advice for someone who has done this or looked into it previously? My partner's company is HQ'd in the UK and his main office is near Toronto, so hoping that marriage could be a help to maybe piggyback off his employment. However, we might need to get married soon with how things are progressing in the courts lately.
