I was really hoping the response to this would have been in line with the Muslim ban response at the very least

 

point being most of them don't know any beyond just the 1st, 2nd, and maybe 5th amendments. They only know the 5th because they've seen it on TV shows.

 

Those are pretty much the only amendments from the bill of rights I know off hand, admittedly lol.

Like, I know the rights, I just don't know which number corresponds to each

 

and that's fine. What's not fine is not knowing and constantly jacking yourself off about how much of a constitutionalist you are.

 

Really wish there was more of a push for a general strike. I think the only way anything changes is if the corporations who prop up these politicians start to feel the hurt. Their pockets are their only real vulnerability.

I know a lot of people aren't in a financial position to take time off work (this is by design of course) but I do think a lot of people would participate if there was an organized movement.

It is very obvious that politicians aren't going to fix this. The power needs to return to the people. They need to fear us.

 

I think it's important to remember that part of the resistance is that the state is really good at preventing change through poor pay and a police state etc

 

Is this person saying it’s dumb that this is what it’s come to with abortion laws in the country, or that what Dick’s specifically is doing is a bad thing?

 

I think its saying that what it has come to here, we shouldn't have to rely on fucking dicks sporting goods as a outlet for access to an abortion. (obviously what they are doing is good though)

Granted I’m in NY, but it’s been weird how little talk there’s been about this it seems. Had a small protest on Fri, about 50-75 people but that’s been it. Work in a very communal work environment with a young staff and not one person has mentioned it.

 

Can't wait for all the retaliatory bullshit in right to work states when someone has to inform their boss they need time off to travel to get an abortion

 

I've had the opposite experience actually (also in NY). Basically every single person who I've had an actual conversation with since Friday has brought it up right away and it's still dominating my social media timelines, mostly from women, but I've seen a few men speak out as well.

Yeah the number one way to get into politicians heads is to call their offices
