Totally agree, I want to go back someday but the game doesn't even cross my mind except for times like this.

Wasn't directing my statement at any single person, but if you want to search this thread for all the people complaining that Eastward has too much dialogue, I'll wait for you to get back.

Haha I know, the problem I had with the dialogue was that it wasn't engaging at all, it sounds like it's a slow burn which I can tolerate though. I think I was just disappointed with the gameplay overall too, the combat was pretty meh. Sounds like it gets better I guess?

  8. Eastward is just boring. It's fine to have a lot of dialogue if the game is interesting (triangle strategy for example).

I'm not gonna say it gets better or it's a slow burn, and I'm not even gonna touch Spiffa's post, cause (insert Mad Max here).

I enjoyed Eastward. I thought it was a well-built, fun Zelda-type adventure, and I thought the story was very interesting and had some definite emotional points that hit me. But I was also into it from the get-go, and I definitely wouldn't recommend someone who doesn't like a game from the start to stick with it. That's just asking for heartache from us both.

That said, I will add that you have to bear in mind that it is a Zelda-type, and as such, you will start with minimal tools and get more as the game goes on. You get a gun, you get explosives, and you will have to use those. You get powers for Sam and you will have to use those and her, because she, being small, can go places and do things that John can't.

But this all isn't going to be available from the outset. So yeah, you're gonna have to beat things with a shovel for a while until more options become available to you.

Yeah, the progression in mechanics definitely makes me stay intrigued, plus I did like the puzzle solving and switching between characters. I bet it gets pretty challenging the more you go through the game.

Speaking of puzzles I really want to go back to CrossCode, loved the game and since I have played it a few years ago I have become more of a fan of complex puzzles in games. CrossCode goes hard in the paint on puzzles.

Apparently this won't be available on Steam until next year, so check back with me then.

I don’t know anything about pc gaming or storefronts, but seems super weird for an indie to take 2 years to come to steam

After some research, it appears it was exclusive to the MS Store for a period of time, and now they say they'll bring it to Steam after some "updates", whatever that means.

I'm choosing to believe 2023 is just a placeholder date.

my friend told me to just beat the palace in the first few days just so I can spend all the time doing connections and like I think I prefer mixing it up and cutting close with sending the calling card.

i beat futuba palace early on so the next 17 days were spent hanging with people and I got bored lol.

  24. Control's first dlc is pretty cool so far. Adds some interesting stuff to gameplay and the map is really nice. I heard the second one ties into Alan Wake, so maybe I'll play that before getting to it.
