Got shipping confirmation for my vinyl! Looks like it’s just the label being created though.

 

I can't really think of another coheed album that has been reviewed this well aside from good apollo. truly stellar that they're getting all these rave reviews

 

Yeah, I was trying to think if it really is getting better reviews or if Coheed is doing a better job of getting those reviews in front of people.

 

New Volta and Coheed in the same week. I’m in Heaven

 

yeah, every review i've read has been pretty glowing.

 

I don't know what I'm more impressed by, the reviews or that I've somehow managed to stop myself from hearing my favorite band's new album despite it being on my computer for the last month

Very happy I’ve held off on the leak. I’m in a wedding this weekend so I have a lot to stuff going on so hopefully I’ll be able to jam it a couple times fri/Sat then Sunday is Vaxis II day for me

 

Very spoilery, so don’t listen if you don’t want to hear a rather large snippet played acoustic/piano. This rules though.

 

whoa, i love that! always so interesting to hear claudio's stripped down versions of songs. love the production and complexity with the entire band, but some of these songs just make so much sense when you hear claudio singing them like that.

“I’ve always thought of us as underdogs”: the oral history of Coheed And Cambria

A little bit of a bummer it’s not as thorough as I would like (AP’s oral histories used to be 3-4 pages long of quotes from tons of people on the different eras of a band) but a lot of cool info regardless. Cool to hear him talk about NWFT and YOTBR, and that he singled out Ladders of Supremacy and Beautiful Losers being around since Vaxis I, but felt they fit better in II narratively. Also that musical hasn’t gone completely by the wayside it seems.

 

On the stream today he said Vaxis 2 has been done for about a year, they've just been delayed releasing it because they were doing all the other material like books and such for it.

 

I hear this stuff and it just makes me want the next album faster, but I know that won’t happen, so I wish he just wouldn’t say it, haha.

 

Re-listened to Vaxis I today and it might be my favourite Coheed album

man disappearing act is... really not good. this is fun so far but I'm not sure I understand the rave reviews at all lol unless the second half is straight magnum opuses

 

Yeah that one is pretty different, and while it's an outlier, I think if you don't like that one the rest of the album will just be meh for you. I'm worried the amount of glowing reviews might be setting some unrealistic expectations.

I love the song though.

 

yeah I'm sincerely glad people love this but also straight up feel like I'm hearing a different album than the reviews described lol

up to Bad Man and this one is also just a total miss for me. some baffling production choices on this thing. Love Murder One was great tho!

 

I think the last 3 are the best the album has to offer, along with Beautiful Losers and Love Murder One.

 

How did you like the singles? They are 4 for 4 for me!
