Hey hello, those lyrics were really stupid, and no I don't think any of that stuff at all. Mixtapes was for better or worse a very real band, I was a mess, our songs were about being a mess and trying to figure life out, and I certainly wasn't doing a good job of it at the time.

At that point I was a severe alcoholic, drug addict, and just a general shithead that was unhappy, paranoid, depressed and confused. I'm not even blaming anything on drugs or alcohol, but those were just things that fueled my negativity even further, and at that point lord only knows what I was saying or doing.

I absolutely loved our band, the friends we made, and the music we put out. I absolutely don't currently get into any conspiracy theories, and any of that silly shit I said back then I most surely don't believe now if I ever did then. I didn't realize the seriousness and the damage at the time, which could be said about many things I said and did at the time. I could talk about this stuff for hours, but I'll just say thanks to anyone that listened, it means a ton, and i'm sorry if I ever made you have to be bummed about liking our music.

I am glad I am not the person I was then, I hope everyone is having a great weekend, and I can't wait for this Wonder Years record.

Thanks for reaching out Ryan. I love those records, they were so important in helping me navigate my early 20's, and the songs have been routinely stuck in my head for years! Life can be so shitty and messy, and I hope you're in a better place now.

 

That photo would make for a lovely LP cover, if it is. Would maybe look nicer without the bands name on it though

 

Interesting that they aren't teasing this one like they did the last two. Dan did say on his Instagram story that it will be a big week of announcements, so I'm assuming we get the album info/pre-orders and maybe tour dates this week.

 

The Wonder Years and Dance Gavin Dance are probably my 2 favorite or at least most-listened to bands and I intentionally chose not to buy anything from the DGD preorder a few months ago in anticipation of TWY announcing something. I didn’t expect it to take this long!

 

Definitely best you waited and dodged a bullet with DGD
