my deluxe preorder of Pretty Years came in and it's soooo doooope. translucent black smoke variant, alternate artwork on plastic and a blue 7" with demos

 

Did the plastic stick on to your cover? Mine slid off immediately, but I think I'm gonna hang it up in my room or put it in a picture frame with a dope background or something.

 

Nah, was it supposed to stick? I just figured it was something to slide in front of the album in its record jacket

 

Yeah you're probably right. I was thinking since it came in front of the album cover in the packaging maybe it was supposed to stay on, but I now I see what you were saying haha

 

decided to grab something as a pick me up post Stage Four, figured Pixie Queen should do the trick. found out the local shop is a Mondo dealer, too, so i've got an Over the Garden Wall waiting for me whenever they get them in.

My copy of Culture Abuse- "Peach" is currently stuck in Bell Gardens purgatory. Feels like it's been a while since that's happened.

 

I have a copy of the 2012 Doghouse press of ...Is a Real Boy in olive green/white splatter that I want to get rid of, if anyone is interested.

 

Waiting for those Drake releases to go up on Amazon. You can actually purchase all three individually, or as a package through Drake's website.

Also it looks like most of Weezer's discography is being reissued. Preorders are currently up on Amazon and Bullmoose.

 

My copy of Whitney's Light Upon the Lake came into today. Sounds great, but the corners are all bent

My roommate also picked up George Carlin's I Kinda Like It When a Lotta People Die so we're giving that a spin right now

 

Picked up Frameworks' Smother last night on White/Black/Yellow. Been really behind on taking picture of my new arrivals but I'll catch up at some point.

 

I got my Colossal/Owen split a couple days ago. Woo!

 

I'm so pissed I missed the Weezer / Wavves 7" split. Argh. If anyone happened to order an extra copy, please contact me!

 

I was really confused when adding Pixie Queen to my Discogs, because there wasn't a plain black variant listed, and it looked pretty much standard black. it wasn't until I put it on the turntable that I realized it has a very dark swirl of red, haha. it's subtle, but it's there.

 

man we are getting Drake presses and Weezer and Beck re-presses all on the 28th

 

Wanted to pick up the Drake presses but I saw they were 34 bucks each. I'll stick with my shitty bootlegs haha. The What A Time To Be Alive bootleg actually sounds good, but If You're Reading This... sounds pretty bad.

 

I haven't posted here in forever, but I've had a pretty crazy week just filling in holes.

Also preordered the B&N exclusive pressing of Bruce's new autobiography companion collection, the Lazurus B&N Exclusive press, the new Metallica record online store exclusive color press, JEW's new record on the 'most limited' varient, and I ordered another copy of What To Do When You Are Dead because EVR is randomly inserting a couple test pressings, so cross fingers.

Uh, I'm sure I'm forgetting stuff. Basically, my wallet hates me.

 

Stumbled across a used deluxe edition of Give Up today at my record store for $12

Also thinking about picking up Daniel Johnston's Hi. How Are You for $15

 

After sitting on this and Chase This Light for almost a month, I have to say I love these records.

 

Nearly perfect records. I'd be hard-pressed to find something I didn't like. Futures is one of those once-in-a-lifetime albums.

 

I still can't believe you've only recently got into JEW. They've been a big band and a scene stable for a decade and a half.

 

I think I tried back in the day, but they didn't hook me. I'm sure when I first listened I hadn't matured enough to give something more than one spin before I wrote it off.

I don't think it was until Beggars that I began giving an artist/album more than one spin after not enjoying what I heard.

 

I'm jealous that you had the chance to order another copy of What To Do When You Are Dead, by the time I seen their post on Facebook about it the record was already sold out.

 

The only Yellowcard record I own on vinyl.

Hope I have an opportunity to remedy that with a box set soon.

 

I'm pretty bummed I missed the preorder for their new/last album before they sold out of vinyl. I like their discography enough (and don't have have any of their stuff on vinyl) to definitely go in on a box set. Hope that's a thing!
