Went to see Crown The Empire last night on their Fallout anniversary tour with DRUGS and The Word Alive at HOB in Chicago. I was expecting the venue to be half empty but it was actually sold out. People were going nuts for a band that 3-4 years ago could barely sell 80% of a 800 cap venue in the suburbs. Girls were screaming like Justin Bieber was on stage. WTF did I miss? Did we go back 10 years and no one told me?

 

I don’t know if it was their last release but they are back to being very popular again.

 

That DRUGS tour earlier this year I think did realllllly well too

For some reason I really thought they were flopping hard

 

I think CTE's past few singles, especially the one with Courtney from Spiritbox, have been really well-recieved. Combine that with the fact that The Fallout is in the critical nostalgia range for a lot of people, it's no surprise this tour is doing well.
