Really, every sequel from this franchise is generally enjoyable for me, and I've watched all of them probably a dozen times in the last couple of years (save for Dominion, obviously). But then each one is equally weighed down with some insanely dumb stuff.

The Lost World has the highest highs and Fallen Kingdom has the lowest lows - those are the only things that really distinguish any of the sequels for me. Otherwise, they're generally all tied.... I might like Dominion more than World, but I've only seen it once.

I feel like you could go right in order from first movie to last and that’s pretty much my rankings lol

Maybe swap around Fallen Kingdom and this new one

 

I did like the under water (Bryce Dallas Howard) and ice (Chris Pratt / DeWanda Wise; she should be in more/better stuff) scenes.

 

It's kinda interesting how the Jurassic Park movies are pretty parallel with the Ninja Turtles movies

Original TMNT movie (1990) / Jurassic Park = Incredible
Secret of the Ooze / The Lost World = Significant downgrade, but also fine
TMNT 3 / JP 3 = Huge downgrade from even the first sequel, should have never happened.
Michael Bay TMNT movies / Jurassic World movies = Super shitty, should have never happened.

 

Put some goddamn respect on Secret of the Ooze

 

For sure agree with this, I think Sean Fennessy (or maybe his guest Bryan Curtis) on The Big Picture mentioned that there’s really cool ideas/scenes/whatever within Dominion that get bogged down by all of the other stuff that comes with Big Blockbuster territory

 

Unless I'm missing something or misunderstanding, the whole Maisie origin change is a pretty big plot hole, right? I mean, it's convoluted at best.

Fallen Kingdom outright says that the cloning after Charlotte's death is what led to Hammond and Lockwood having a falling out (which implies that's why he was already out of the picture by the events of Jurassic Park and never mentioned in the "founding" of the park in the events of the sequels). But given the new fact that Maisie was born (circa 2008), that would mean that Hammond was probably not even alive at the time that Charlotte Lockwood "cloned" herself.

It kind of works but it also kind of doesn't... If Lockwood simply took the fall for Charlotte's human cloning fiasco in 2008, his lack of mention from any Jurassic Park/InGen history throughout the years before that is a little inexplicable since it's ONLY Hammond who is ever credited.

 

(I love Secret of the Ooze just as much as the original movie, but only the real ones agree)

 

I might have missed this during the movie cause overall I didn’t care at all about it, but, if Charlotte had a genetic disease and passed it off to her daughter and found a cure and injected it into her daughter to cure her, why not also use it on her own self?

 

Still wish it was Bebop & Rocksteady in the movie instead of Tokka and Rahzar, but I too love that movie.

 

I'm not thinking about this too hard but seeing her inject Charlotte as a baby, I kind of assumed the disease was too far long to save herself but Charlotte could be saved if treated at birth. Idk. I don't know how these things work and I highly doubt there is an answer lol probably another plot hole associated with this super bizarre reveal

 

Yep same here lol … literally not trying to make sense into a senseless plot line and movie haha I’m guessing your idea is prob what makes most sense haha

 

Overall I feel like they had no real idea how to incorporate the human cloning thing into the story coming off of Fallen Kingdom, so this was their sloppy, vague attempt at making her relevant and didn't want to explain any more than they had to lol. There are so many holes and contradictions that I would be VERY surprised if this (double) twist was set up from the start of Fallen Kingdom....

I’m sorry, I’m finishing up my rewatch finally and uh, anyone who doesn’t put Fallen Kingdom as the worst movie is crazy. Like, holy shit, it’s worse than I remember.

The indoraptor playing dead and literally peeking at the audience and smiling before biting that dudes arm off is probably the worst thing in any of the movies. At least the raptor saying Allen was a dream.

 

When the TRex makes the logo in this movie though. OMG

 

Okay, that was very stupid, too. But at least they didn’t make it stop and grin at the audience saying “see, we’re doing the logo! LOL”

 

Totally agree haha. The wink just made me think of that happening in this movie

 

Always wondered how they made sure the dinosaurs know where to look.
