Nate was the one that turned me onto Isbell, and Kyle does amazing country solos on his Instagram. I think it was his George Strait solo that was insane.

I have given this a few front to back listens around the house and each time I find something new I love. definitely a grower.

I'm amusingly annoyed at how much Quitter Talk is growing on me, because Know Your Tell isn't haha. Kinda wish that was the closer instead.

Yeah I’m now loving everything except the closer. The outro part is cool but not connecting with the rest.

Quitter Talk absolutely should have been the closer with Know Your Tell being second to last.

Also, I used to not like State of Abuses but now I love it. I love this whole album. It’s easily on my personal AOTY list and my favorite record from the guys.

Just gave this one a spin and was very impressed. The heavier parts go hard and I’m loving the vocals throughout.

I’m having a difficult time connecting with this one. At least more so than their previous albums. Definitely growing on me and I’m sure it will continue to though.

Love playing this album on vinyl, super vibrant! Maybe bc they used an analog master.. not sure if that matters.. I’m a couple bourbons deep and loving it

Really enjoyed the set in NY last night. Great to see/hear so many of the new Kodak tunes, and seems like they're leaning into the aforementioned "twangy" sound, while still keeping the energy up and dropping the hammer at times, like closing with AA Almanac.

Hopefully it's a successful run- looked like there was a line at their merch table after the set ended.

This band deserves so much success. I really hope this record gives them the push they need to reach a higher audience.

I played with this band in 2008 and have been a fan ever since. wild to see a set list without any songs from the season, but proud of them for moving forward and moving on. Love this new record.

I absolutely love The Season with all of my heart… but yeah it’s time to move on and focus on the new jams.

I wasn’t a huge fan of the setlist because they have a few songs that I feel shine over the rest in a live setting and they played a set without any of them in it, but once I actually saw it live it made sense to me for this tour. I’m happy they’re playing what they want to play.

The Season is my least favorite record now. Is that a hot take nowadays?

I would not enjoy seeing them and there not being a Season song in the set. Guess it’s a good thing I went to one of the anniversary shows.

    I feel it’s time:

Kodak > The Season > Movement EP > No Bouquet > NBLAQ

Quitter > Movement > Kodak > No Bouquet > The Season.

The last two might be interchangeable, but they both are killer regardless.

I know musicians need to change and follow sounds they are passionate about, but everything after Quitter has just been a dramatic step down for me personally. I like Kodak more than No Boquet, but it’s it’s still way below Season, Movement, and Quitter for me.

I feel like during their earlier stuff, the band was untouchable in their ability to create super tight melodies and song structures that felt so fine tuned to every song. I also think I appreciated the production and mixing way more on those albums. I know they are a little bit too perfect and squeaky clean, but I feel like it worked so well for a band as meticulous as they were (though I do think some new stuff, like chemical trials for example, work well by doing the complete opposite).

I still follow the band and will check out what they are doing, but I really wish I felt in love with another AGO release.

You can see from those who responded there is a mix of what people have as their favourite record.

It is hard when band evolves away from the sound you like most, but with AGO (and many other bands), if different fans love different records that’s success. If a strong majority all thought one record was a bands best, and everything else was further down the list, you’d give up on supporting them quitting instead of sustaining and trying to grow your fan base.
