Are we sure this isn't a new album? They just announced their "Something Loud" tour as well. Album makes more sense?

  5. Maybe they're literally just giving us something LOUD

Jokes aside, I don't think they'd surprise rollout an album in just one week, but "Something Loud" could potentially be the title track from the new album?

I think I’m one of the few people that wish / would be totally fine with them hanging it up.

I don't want to see them hang it up. But taking a break from releasing stuff for awhile would be fine.

Haha! I promise it’s not. I just feel like they’re a bit out of gas in the ‘ol creativity tank.

  11. Their last two albums are incredible? Integrity Blues widely regarded as their best in like 15 years. This talk is making me my brain turn to jelly.

  12. I'd be totally fine with you fucking off lmao

    they don't miss

Imagine wanting good musicians to stop creating/releasing music.

Integrity Blues might be my fav JEW album, & I would put Sure & Certain or You Are Free up against any of their singles

Also just let them keep making music lol. You don’t have to listen to any of their new stuff

Oh shit, oh fuck, I did not word my last comment well. I'm not saying they SHOULD stop releasing material, more that I'd understand if they decided to take a longer break between releases. Dudes have been pumping stuff out like clockwork since they started.

Their discography is about has good as it gets. No real misses at all.

I wish they'd revisit Damage and clean up production a bit for a 10 year anniversary release cause those songs are great otherwise.

    Stoked for this rollout!

I'm one of the many people who are happy that they're a band who seems to get at least close to the love that they deserve. And those last two records were seen as kind of return to form after a couple of drops IMO.

100% this. There are GREAT songs hiding in that cardboard box production.

Get JMJ on the boards and redo it. I think it would turn some heads.

Damage is one of the JEW albums that doesn't have any skips/filler for me. Such an incredibly underrated one. Agree it could use some remastering/remixing touch-ups but I get the sound they were going for and I appreciate it all the same.

Also Surviving is killer... "Delivery" gets me everytime, and seeing them play "Congratulations" live was epic

  22. not trying to gang up on you here, I promise, but I don’t think a “tank” is a great way to be conceiving of an artist’s creativity. I would contend that a more fitting analogy is a muscle. It strengthened when exercised. So if anything, continuing to put out music is what will keep JEW creative and growing creatively. As many low-quality reunion albums have proven, sitting around not making music for a few years isn’t guaranteed to “refill” anyone’s creativity “tanks.”

To wrap this around to the point @Rustash was making, I think the three year gap between every JEW album is as long as it needs to be. As I hinted above, I think it could even benefit the band to try releasing music more frequently; but either way, a three year distance between albums, especially as consistent as that gap has been for JEW over the past two decades, gives the band more than enough of a “break” (at least, in my opinion).

3 years is enough time write, record, promote, release, multiple tours and breaks. They’ve found a good thing that works. 3 years also keeps fans engaged. Being predictable in release cycles is good by me.

Also, there is a financially stability to factor in.

I’m just hoping it’s more than 10 tracks. For a band to pull off a 10 track album these days, it has to be PERFECT.

I can’t imagine a world without Jimmy Eat World. Nor would I want to.

If they were to break up, the state of Arizona may as well swallow itself into a sinkhole.
