Kurt has always been my favorite dgd vocalist

 

always got a weird vibe from Tilian (like others have mentioned, him being "edgy" etc) but nothing like this, fucking awful

 

Man, this whole situation legit bums me out. It bums me out that he treated that woman and who knows how many others like that, it bums me out that a dude I admired as a vocalist is a total creep, and it bums me out that he also has been on a few of my personal favorite DGD records and I’m not sure if I’ll be able to listen to them the same again. I hope the band makes the right decisions on this situation and I genuinely feel horrible for her and I commend her for coming forward with the story.

 

Wow. Completely night and day comparing this forum’s reaction compared to Reddit.

I honest to God think this sill just be swept under the rug and nothing will happen. Sadly their fanbase will just blindly follow/support no matter what. I don’t see anyone stepping in here.

 

i have a feeling the reaction on reddit will be the majority of people's opinions... those comments have hundreds of upvotes and they have already declared the first accusation "debunked". really interested to see what happens from here, tilian is claiming everything was "purely consensual". i think the band will lose a lot of fans but hard to imagine them calling it quits.

 

Just saw that second allegation. Absolutely disgusting behavior. Appears to be getting more support than the original allegations in terms of upvotes at least.

 

Need DGD - Taylor Edition albums.

The allegations are absolutely horrible and I really hope for the best for the survivors. I think I've seen three come forward with their experiences so far in less than 24 hours.

 

don't you guys think it's a bit callous to be talking so much about who's gonna replace him when there's still new allegations surfacing and the band has yet to address it in any way?

I hope we hear something soon from the band and they take action swiftly. More and more seem to be coming out and it’s very clear it’s a pattern with him.

 

Yeah I wondered about if I was personally talking about it too soon, but the victims aren't in this thread (that I know of) and most of us here are in agreement that Tilian needs to go based on what he's done, so I don't think it's bad for us to talk about next steps for DGD. I'll be glad to hear a counter argument though.

 

do whatever you want. i was just curious if i was the only one that found it to be insensitive and selfish that the conversation in here seems so focused on fantasy band scenarios 24 hours after the initial allegations and while new ones are still popping up.

 

You’re not the only one. It is weird, especially the people (not in this thread) who are speculating that Circa Survive is breaking up and Anthony Green should replace Tilian.

Frankly, would rather see this band just call it quits. Tilian has displayed more than enough questionable and outright problematic behavior in the past and these guys are obviously around him way more than just about anybody else so I would wager a pretty penny that they’ve chosen to ignore plenty of red flags he’s displayed at this point. It’s just not a great look in my eyes.

Also, this could obviously have changed over time, but I’m pretty sure the band mentioned early on in the Tilian era that if they ever had to part ways with him that they’d just stop being a band at this point. Someone please correct me if I’m wrong though.

 

If I was a betting man - I would bet this band either does nothing or calls it quits.

Given how big the band is now though? I’m going with the former.


… but I still vote they just bring Kurt back.

 

If it's the former, I unfortunately see it playing out like them letting Tilian have some time off to get his stuff together (like they did with Matt, even though this is way different) and get a fill in for the Coheed tour.

 

I honestly hope Coheed fully drops them / replaces them for the summer tour but I doubt that will happen

 

Legit honest question because I’m constantly confused by these situations: Tillian was drunk and grieving, and this woman knew that and consistently pursued him at times when she also knew he would be vulnerable - how could he possibly have consented to any of this?

 

maybe read the part of the story where he consistently forced himself onto her before they went out one night and were both complete sober, and maybe try reading the other stories that have come out corroborating the original story

 

Reading is fundamental. You really should try it before posting some shitty victim blaming comment.

 

Part of me wishes I lived in the timeline where Nic Newsham ended up singing for DGD.

Honestly, the response on subreddit to the second seems to be majority believing it and asking for him to respond to it.
