Another thing I liked is that Mike didn't stop it or come save the day. There's been an almost invariable tendency in BCS that wasn't quite there in BB for the writers to use Mike, at least when he's in work mode, as de facto superhero – his plans are supernaturally good, pay off perfectly, rarely anything left to chance; literally and metaphorically, if he needs to snipe a moving target from a distance, he never misses. That he didn't even consider that Lalo might be aware he was being tapped, that he took people off Kim and Jimmy's place to fatal consequences makes him less of that – this time the moving target got away.

 

I mean I figured the end was near, but had no idea it would be like that. Man that was brutal.

I really thought for a second Howard was gonna think jimmy and Kim had hired lalo to fuck with him more and be really rude to lalo hahahaha

 

part of me almost would've liked to see this because I know Tony Dalton would've played along with it so perfectly

 

So this is why I wished the first half of this season moved a bit faster as it seems the 2nd season has SO MUCH ground to cover. That may make for nuts episodes, but they also may feel rushed, so we'll end up with 1 slow half, then a 2nd rushed half. Having said that, last nights episode was intense and amazing after the build up, so I can't really complain, and won't complain if the 2nd half nails it, but it seems like a lot.

In the 2nd half we have to (and feel free to add what I'm missing).
- Deal with the fallout of the episode end (Jimmy had panic attacks after the bag episode and this was way more traumatizing so somehow he has get past all that to the carefree Saul in BB who is basically emotionless).
- There has to be some sort of 'what happened to Howard plot from Cliffs side' unless they just make it look like a suicide or something. I wonder if they will deal with people looking for Howard and trying to find Kim and Saul or if we'll just try to wrap this up neatly and be done with it.
- We have some teased BB cameo's to deal with and there have been a lot of comments about how this is really going to change some perspectives on breaking bad. I don't think that they will just be background cameo's either so some new plotlines coming?
- Gus/Lalo plot (which we know how it ends, nobody finds out about the lab and Lalo is not in BB but isn't known as dead to Saul) so that has to end in a creative/unexpected way for all that to happen.
- Kim's fate?? Where is she in BB?
- Considering one of the Gene flashforwards had Gene appearing to take matters into his own hands with getting sick of his life and being followed/paranoid, we have to go back to that timeline or that scene becomes meaningless.

Seems like a lot BUT i wouldn't be surprised if we get some extended episodes to try to fit it all in.

I’m not sure we see much more of the legal side of the show. They may touch on it briefly, but the focus is squarely on the cartel now.

Also I’m guessing that the cameos are strictly going to be relegated to cold openings but I could be wrong. Regardless I think six episodes is more than enough time to cover everything and tie up loose ends.

 

I’ve been watching this show for like 7 years and didn’t notice until I googled Patrick Fabian’s work last night.

 

Your research took you a step further, but it is funny because I googled his work as well last night! Let's just say the first paragraph of his Wiki page does not make mention of his iconic work in SBTB: College Years lol

Patrick Fabian absolutely destroyed that last monologue though. glad he at least got one last fuck you to Jimmy

 

If you're extremely spoiler sensitive, I wouldn't read, but if you don't mind hints and thoughts from the creative team, this is a good read that hints at if we are or aren't done with some plot lines.

Wooooooooof. I had a hunch, that from the angle/framing the showed Howard talking in front of the door that something was going to happen. “Like what if Lalo shows up”.

Didn’t relate the cockroach to anything. Just thought it was a cockroach. I get it now.

 

also. howard ended up being saul's hank. both were good lawmen who got killed because walt and saul abandoned the law.

lalo seeing the cockroach before he goes to see jimmy when he literally called jimmy a cockroach when he saw kim in prison.

vince gilligan and gould are the best show writers in existence right now

 

anyone else struck by the realisation that Lalo is... the most likable lead character left on this show? except for maybe Mike, but he doesn't have shit to do since Nacho died lol. I just do not have a shred of sympathy left for Saul or Kim at this point, awful people

 

Lalo is charismatic, but certainly not likeable imo considering the people he's killed in cold blood without a 2nd thought.

And I definitely have sympathy for Kim and Jimmy still and think the show has done a good job of showing enough back story for their flaws (Kim's upbringing, Jimmy and his brother). It seems that whenever one is out, the other is in (starting with the reversal at the end of season 5 and this season). Until it became fun, you could tell Jimmy wanted out, but Kim wanted to keep going. They really are bringing out the worst in each other at this point. However, with how flippant and remorseless Saul is in BB (from the glimpses we get), I might not have sympathy for much longer. Hard to tell where I'll end up with Kim. They have had plenty of chances to completely abandon each other over some of the stints they've pulled, but they always find a way to justify what the other did.

The only thing I don't like about Jimmy is he still has not addressed his brothers death. It bothers me that he doesn't appear to care at all. I've been waiting for a moment for him to show that some pain was buried regarding that, but I don't think it's coming. The closest was the fake out at the reinstatement.

 

I don't think Jimmy has an ounce of care left in him for Chuck, I wouldn't have expected any more on that

 

this fucking show, man.
