Gonna have to be an agree to disagree situation. There are definitely some standout tracks on it, but parts of it just weren't engaging to me. They did a good job with it. Nate is a very capable replacement for Caleb. It's difficult for any album to be engaging to me at 14 tracks when there are multiple 7+ minute tracks on it and a 12 minute closer unless it's Jane Doe caliber or Bongripper with where my attention span is now. Probably why I love grindcore so much.

 

Him and his kiddo have the exact same attention span.

Keith would not be a good fit for Power Trip imo. Seconding the idea of Jason Tarpey. Gimme a tour of PT + Iron Age songs.

 

idk if i really want keith joining a band/musicians i have a rooting interest in tbh

 

Keith's personal situation aside, he needs to be in a dynamic metalcore band to really maximize his range. ETID was perfect for him in terms of what he brought to the table IMO.

They have a new album dropping this year. Kind of curious how it'll be now that the vocalist from Shattered Sun took over and Rizzo returned after being kicked out of Soulfly. I know they've put some songs out there, but I tend to prefer to hear stuff in the context of an album.

 

Speaking of Jason Tarpey, I had no idea until this past weekend he had another metal side project, Graven Rite, until someone mentioned it at the Big Takeover when we were talking about Iron Age. They only ever put out one release, but this is good stuff.

 

Feel like doing a discog run, any suggestions?
