Keaton as Vulture and Leung as Wenwu were both great in their films

    Doctor Strange: Is America okay?

Oh, wow, thank you for asking, no, uh, no absolutely not we are deeply entrenched in - oh I see. Yes. Yes I’m sure she’s fine.

No lie, every time they said something about America, I cringed a little. Just such an awkward name for anyone to have. Kind of wish they just had "America" be a nickname instead of keeping it as her first name.

He definitely wouldn't count now, but I'd throw in Hiddleston's Loki pre-redemption arc

I’ve come to believe that the Thanos of Infinity War isn’t actually a compelling villain, and just gets by based on the scale of the film (purely spectacle-wise) & Brolin’s voice. Which, is fair, but not enough for me, personally. Y’all nerds almost certainly don’t want to hear some of my hot takes on villains I find more compelling, in one way or another, lol.

Will say, to stay relevant to this thread, Olsen’s Wanda was a great villain for this film.

I’d counter that by saying imo Thanos is a top 5 movie villain of all time

I love that for you and have no mileage left for debating something like that, but I truly cannot relate, at all.

Olsen's performance in this was phenomenal, but the way Wanda was actually written was very bleh to me

I’ve wanted to read some fun thoughts and theories about this movie in this thread, but @Vase Full Of Rocks ’s toxic negativity is insufferable.

It’s a comic book movie bro. Chill. I get your passionate about this stuff but Jfc……

Vase can be blunt, but "toxic negativity" seems a bit much.

We all have the lines we draw for opinions, but I take toxic opinions as something where the person is shaming others for liking something or getting personal or insulting. I just consider their opinion as sometimes annoying and “we get it.”

it's funny picturing a best villains list that was like Hannibal Lecter, Annie Wilkes, Anton Chigurh, Thanos

I'm not shaming anyone for liking this. Like what you like, that's 100% fine. I just really hated it because it felt so messy and forced.

Stuff like Shang-Chi which was only okay is still more exciting for the possibilities of what's to come.

Saw this over the weekend. It was fine overall and I probably wont think of it or watch it ever again. Pretty shallow character-wise, re-hashed villain motivation from Wandavision, didn't really live up to its namesake (I guess wanda was kinda mad in this?), I expected some more time spent in various universes but they just went to a teched out version of 616 earth and had one quick montage of them jumping through universes. Zombie Strange with the demon cloak thing at the end was fun though.

I feel like the "rehashed" Wanda plot would make more logical sense if they made the movie more about the Darkhold corrupting her and had the Darkhold (or Chthon, since they even mentioned him) be the ultimate villain instead of Wanda.

The fact that they made it so much more ambiguous and made Wanda the core is what makes it feel more "rehashed", IMO.
