Danganronpa Ultra Despair girls takes place in between, but it's absolutely skipable and one of the worst pieces of media I've ever experienced

 

Was already really enjoying Tunic and then I got to what I believe is the endgame ( golden path) and just wow. What a fantastic game

I have a friend who’s had Tiny Tina pre-ordered digitally for like a year, and the biggest edition at that.

every time I see him I think to myself… what a dumbass

Why would you give someone money years in advance for something that could turn out disappointing. It’s not like it sells out.

This is the only big game I'll play this year. Even if the reviews say it's shit I don't care I'm gonna buy it anyway

 

At this point, most games are broken and have numerous issues at launch. Definitely wait for reviews and put your money down then.

 

just speaking for myself, there are a handful of franchises that I know I'm going to play regardless of reviews (e.g. the new Horizon, if/when there's a new Last of Us). but 1. I realize as I type this that it's generally only sequels of games that have already proven themselves, and 2. even then only if the preorder comes with some sort of cool collectible

 

Do like me. Wait a year or two and buy at a discount.

If there was a dot hack remake of the original four games and the only way to get the OVAs that came with them was through preordering, you bet your ass I'm doing that.

Pre-orders need to get more creative, not malicious. I hate the Sonic one where it's like "you won't get a whole fucking mode unless you preorder" be like "here's some legimate awesome stuff that hardcore fans will want"

 

and do what in the meantime? get through my backlog? absurd

 

I mean, some come with cool perks and some people don't care about reviews, especially if it's a known quantity (example next Naughty Dog title). Also, with a physical preorder it's like $5 down and refundable.

I don't believe most games launch broken to be honest. A lot of them launch with glitches sure and tolerance for those depends on the person. A lot of live service games maybe launch with huge issues, sure. But most games broken? I don't think that's accurate and don't think we should be telling what to do based on that.

 

Now this is a strategy I can get behind! I do this for 99% of games these days haha
