If when that adtr/beartooth tour gets announced and there’s no Chicago date maybe both are on riot fest. I wouldn’t mind seeing beartooth at riot. They’ve never played it

The Weakerthans would be incredible anywhere it were to happen. My post was just about headliners.

That would be so sweet! But if I recall, the whole issue there was Jimmy's voice so that's probably not gonna happen unfortunately.

 

Jimmy actually mentioned on a podcast a little while back that he would be open to PBC shows but that it just hasn't been brought up or something

But yeah I'm surprised Fest hasn't made it happen yet especially for the 20th this year

 

I feel like people stopped asking because most of the respectful fans didn't want to bug Jimmy about it so we all just kinda gave up. And everybody else stopped caring two albums before they broke up because he started singing more and ruining his throat less.

But still. A PBC reunion would make my heart swell up.

 

I know I'm in the super minority but I almost exclusively listen to Death Chorus when I return to them, I thought that direction he took vocally was incredible. Oh yeah after Death Chorus I listen to Pawner & punch a wall

 

I somehow never got to see PBC. I think I had one chance to see them at Warped 2012 in Detroit, but it was 106 degrees outside and needed to relax.

 

i saw them open for taking back sunday in maybe 2012 or 2011. good show.

 

I feel pretty luck to have seen them a pretty ridiculous number of times from 2009 through 2014 or so. Everywhere from headlining a small club, to opening for Braid or Face to Face, to a stage at Warped Tour. Amazing in every setting for very different reasons.

Would love for them to get back to it in any way, shape, or form!

That album is very underrated and it felt like a logical progression for the band at that point.

It's interesting. Whenever I go back to their discography, I find that first EP and LP to be nowhere near as good as I remember them (but still great!) and the last two releases to be infinitely better than I thought they initially were. CBGP has some of the band's best songs overall and amazing lyrics. Holds up super, super well.

 

No Chicago or anywhere close for the adtr/beartooth tour. Closest is Indy

 

It's a lot of secondary markets, is it mostly places they didn't play in on their 2021 tour?

I'd still go with both as 50/50

They troll a lot. But it's either in response to shit people have tweeter or it's overtly blatant. This feels like a subtle indication that it's getting closer (which we knew already).

But this has me wondering if it'll be next week.

 

From a quick look, it seems you are right, they are playing cities they didnt played on their 2021 tour, except for Las Vegas, which they are hitting again for WWWY, so maybe they can repeat Chicago for Riot too. They dont have any show during September, so maybe?

Another thing I noticed is that the 2021 tour they were playing smaller venues and in this one they are playing some arenas and amphitheaters again.

 

there's no dates in September, so there's nothing definitive to say.. so it's jumping to conclusion at this point

ADTR at worst would be top 4 on their day, so that would eliminate other bands people think are locks

they played opposite NIN in 2017, I guess they could be opposite Misfits or the Sunday headliner

and like Andy said, the lineup has to be next week.. maybe Wednesday May 11 (or at worst the week after May 18)

It’d be hilarious, but phenomenally cruel if Eve 6 wasn’t even on the lineup and Riot Fest had them do that

 

Holy shit. @Mike Dust 81 literally said this as a joke the other night. That Eve 6 might release it at their show. LOL

All things considered - I'm now expecting the line-up sometime next week. Probably Wednesday.
