"Marriage" is one of my favourite albums of all time, it just came upon me at the right time. I remember driving to and from Wasaga Beach in high school jamming this non-stop. (Oh, Ontario.) "Curve" and "Years" are fine, but I miss the punk-rock band with the alt-country and folk sensibilities that was present on that debut album.

Not a year has passed since where I haven't been completely taken by it.

    Damn right it is.

But all those guys are so talented. Daniel Romano, Spencer Burton/Grey Kingdom, and Marine Dreams are all regulars on my earbuds.

    The Long Winters

Great PNW indie rock on Death Cab For Cutie's old label (Barsuk records) and I just don't think they ever made it big enough to sustain their music careers comfortably. The frontman John Roderick has a podcast now though where he interviews tons of other musicians so sometimes I get a kick out of that

I recommend the album Putting the Days To Bed for anyone curious

ONE DAY YOU'LL HEAR ME SINGIN' ON THE RAAAADIOOO

That was such a throwback, I used to like them so much back in high school. Classic mid-to-late-00s pop punk.

Wild Sweet Orange is (were) a good one! Coasta is, too, and I've already talked about Phantom Planet.

I'll add to this I'm sure, but off the top of my head bands GTS that I still play frequently:

    Phantom Planet
    Wild Sweet Orange
    Coasta (there's still hope)
    The Honorary Title
    Fur
    The Von Bondies
The Hounds Below (which made up for losing The Von Bondies)
    Elefant
    Harlem Shakes
    Straylight Run
    Dead Confederate
Neutral Milk Hotel (despite his last two tours)
The Carney Encore (just discovered through AP too... damn)
    The Vertical Struts

There's a band called Grandview, with an album called "Everything Between Paint and a Wall" and I wish they had never broken up because they could've made even greater albums.

Aaaaaaanyways, where did Fear Before The March of Flames go. Always Open Mouth was such a great album. Fear Before was just meh. Then they just disappeared.

There's a lot of 90s bands that sadly just disappeared that I would have loved to hear more from:

    The Van Pelt
    Codeine
    Bedhead

A thousand times yes. "It's A Departure" is my fucking jam, and the album as a whole is fantastic to listen to.

I wish I could find that Sirens Sister album anywhere, I used to dig Vendetta Red so hard but those EPs were hot garbage.

I've never come across a band who scratched that itch musically while being so absolutely awful at writing lyrics. "Illinois" for example is a hell of a jam that sounds like they stole the lyrics from a 6 year old. I honestly can't listen to it anymore.

  17. Yeah those EPs were very disappointing. I'm pretty sure both of the Sirens Sister albums are readily available on streaming services or on CD if that's your bag.

I might have to give Echoes from the Ocean Floor a spin now.

Oh they didnt really fade away per se. Theyd been constsntly active for nealy 15 years when they called a hiatus.

Also, regarding Russian Circles, id recommend their fans listen to Isis if they havent already

Codeine reformed for a few reunion shows in 2012 and released a box set of all their recorded material. They disappeared again after that.
