Persia being released is weird considering how prominent she's been featured with Indi, but nothing is surprising anymore.

Malcolm is a treasure. Would be hilarious/awesome if he ended up managing Wardlow to battle MJF on the mic.

Dakota will always be the big dawg and should be an easy signing for AEW.

Harland must have been not been improving at all.

 

Whatever they thought they had in him has entirely been replaced by Bronn Breaker and Gable Steveson

Yeah i wouldn't mind Stokely Hathaway in AEW at all. Especially if that means we get interactions between him and Chuck Taylor on TV. The stuff they did in Chikara together was hilarious.

 

SRS says Dakota wasn't gonna resign and that Harland just kinda sucked

 

I would occasionally check that Harland dude's socials and he was 100% a guy who was fed so much bullshit by some people in WWE and dumb fans on Twitter about being the next Brock Lesnar that he actually believed it himself. Like he would tweet about challenging Brock Lesnar at wrestlemania and shit as a green trainee. This has got to be reality check for that dude.

 

I feel bad for anyone being released, but I can’t help but be happy that we’re going to get Stokely and Evie in AEW. Genuinely two of my absolute favorite people in the industry.

 

Yeah TK loves managers and Chikara alumnus too much not to sign Stokely.

me thinks anyone with indie talent/celebrity will be gone from nxt completely by the end of the year.
wwe is really pushing their next in line program. if those kids are smart, they'll have something else to fall back on.

Yeah, Stokely is gonna be their easiest signing because surely he wasnt re-upping with WWE for exactly this reason.

Dakota's a tougher one because AEW already has too many women they arent using, and her injury history is such that I dont know how much more she ultimately has.

 

I enjoy Mark Sterling a lot, but I can’t argue with this…

 

The women’s division is weird, because it’s underused but it’s also very much in the same spot as the mens division when it comes to releases like this. Much like you can’t turn down the opportunity to sign Keith Lee, Swerve, etc, I don’t think you can possibly pass up on Mia Yim, Evie and such regardless of space. If anything it results it women at the bottom possibly not being resigned, like Joey & Marko.

 

This right here is money, AEW will never go out of business as long as this pairing exists.

Right, but there are ~8 mens matches a week. You can sign them and keep them busy in the ring.

Toni Storm signed and wrestled 30 days ago and has been on screen like 4mins total since. Ruby Soho has worked TV 3 times this year. Both are a bigger deal than Dakota Kai. They've got younger women like Hayter or Anna Jay who cant get on TV consistently. Its not like the men where they can create a stable and give them 10 mins on Rampage. There's literally not enough womens matches being run to sign new people, even if they're better than 90% of the current roster.

Especially with how they've taken the Knockouts division as a big deal.

Until AEW changes their match ratio from like 9:1 mens to womens...hard to root for Dakota or Athena or anyone of that ilk to go to AEW and languish
