What’s the Halloween between Alien Resurrection and Requiem? Was going to make a joke about how I’m glad to see Rob Zombie’s Halloween top the list until I noticed it further down ;)

Turns out putting Resurrection in your title is a bad call.

Okay, who chose hillbilly chainsaw flicks over Universal Mummy

  10. The opening scene in the original Mummy is unforgettable. Unfortunately, so is the blackface in that movie.

Leatherface is Leatherface. The saw is family. Gotta give it to him.

If we’re talking original TCM vs original Mummy then it’s closer

But the Fraser Mummy flicks are so much more fun than any TCM sequel.

I’d probably even watch Tomb of the Dragon Emperor over them

Admittedly it has been a long time since I have seen The Mummy or The Mummy Returns (never saw Tomb), but I remember loving them both. TCM 2 and the total batshit absurdity of Next Gen filtered through the grimy southern filter established in the og TCM will still take my money though. Hooper actually going all in, full tilt on the black comedy elements in 2 is enough for me. That movie is bonkers in the best way. I'm also biased because the first TCM is among my total favorites ever.

  13. I didn't even consider the 1999 Mummy and sequels, I guess they are universal but I assumed we were sticking with Universal Classic Monsters considering those are more action/adventure films. I love The Mummy and the Mummy Returns, but echoing @estebanwaseaten, especially from a horror standpoint, it's really not contest against TCM, TCM2, and The Next Generation.

I think these are what we are talking about.

  15. You joke, but this is canon within the Universal Classic Monsters film franchise!

The only TCM I think is somewhat decent is the 2003 remake. My main problem with the TCM series is that it’s too sadistic compared to series like Halloween and Friday the 13th which are fun to sit back and watch.

Oh man I completely disagree, TCM2 is a total party movie

  19. Idk about Hellraiser losing to jaws (and I'm sore about Alien), but I can't really be mad at those results.

Would American Werewolf in London fit under Universal Wolfman? It was distributed by Universal but it’s not “Wolfman.”

  23. I wouldn't consider it, but again, I'm going by Universal Classic Monster films and that's just me

  24. Same lol. Idk why but my heart went to Saw it was so present when I was first getting into horror and I know Halloween is gonna take it anyways. I also had to vote for Predator even though it's less traditional than The Exorcist because eight times out of 10, between the two, I'm gonna watch a Predator film. And honestly, my dumb little 2010s horror lizard brain prefers VHS to Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

F13 vs. George Romero's Dead is killer. F13 is my ringer though.
