Not sure how I feel about it, but I will watch for Ricci.

This movie is finally coming to a theatre near me next week and I'm so stoked. It looks wild.

Cujo... Not for me. That overtakes Corn Kids for my least favorite King so far.

I completely agree. I adore Dee Wallace, but it fell flat for me as well.

  7. Hey, tbf, the finale of Children of the Corn pops off lol even if nothing really happens in the first hour.

And unfortunately, speaking of nothing happening, I really struggled with We're All Going to the World's Fair. I had such high hopes and felt it was sporadically effective, but mostly boring.

Corn makes for a great summer horror flick, so even though it’s subpar I watch it once a year.

  9. I haven't watched a lot of older films, things I "should" watch--in general but particularly horror. I wanted to change that this past October, by trying out a few long standing franchises I could find on various streaming services, but I didn't know where to start; I couldn't decide because nothing older popped out at me. (I still managed to watch 31+ films that month.) I've kinda been going with the flow, following whatever interests me, which just happens to be films from the past 15-20 years. Here'd be the perfect place to ask for recs for older stuff, but honestly I don't think I'd get to them anytime soon.

I bring this up because when I hear Stephen King all I can think of is the more recent stuff I've seen like Doctor Sleep, Gerald's Game, It, 1408, and the one outlier The Shining. I know I "should" look into older stuff, but... meh. Maybe someday later.

I fell asleep during it and was wondering if I should go back lol

  11. Not trying to gatekeep at all but the idea of loving Doctor Sleep and having not seen The Shining is so wild to me haha, def a muat-watch

  12. Oh I've seen the shining, I caught it in theaters

  14. Yeah I was thinking you misread that (or I worded it unclearly). It came back in theaters a couple weeks before Doctor Sleep was released, so I saw it for the first time on the big screen. (same way I also saw The Matrix when it came back to theaters before Resurrections came out, except I'd seen/owned the trilogy before). I wasn't alive when The Shining was released

Haha yea that would be a wild move, but I’m sure a sizable amount of people did this.

Started watching the American House from the 80's. This movie is so fucking wacky. I was expecting a standard haunted house romp. This is just all over the place lol.

  18. Very Evil Dead but unintentionally cornier if I remember correctly. Been meaning to rewatch for a minute

I'm watching Ash Vs. The Evil Dead and some of the beats feel like the are taken from this movie. I don't know if I can say Evil Dead per se, given the first one was much more grounded and Evil Dead 2 came out after House in terms of the goofiness. I haven't watched the first ED in a while though, so I could be pretty off on that.

The bits of House with the Vietnam stuff is really jarring. Maybe it plays more into the last act. Gonna finish it tonight.

This makes me want to give House another shot. It's been a minute since I've seen it, but from a tone perspective, I remember feeling like it didn't balance the comedy/horror line that well.
