10/10 for me. The look of that final fight is all-time great.

 

Just left the theater. There are so many scenes that will be etched in my brain.

I did not see the twist with the mom coming.

Absolutely incredible film. I had been impatiently waiting for this one for years, and yet it somehow exceeded my expectations. I have heard that Eggers didn’t quite have the complete control he wanted, so I’m really hoping we get a directors cut. Probably going to see this again while it’s still in theaters. Robert Eggers has such a unique vision in everything he does, he’s easily one of my favorite directors working. The score was fantastic, the cinematography was amazing, still thinking about several shots. Everyone brought a great performance but I was really impressed with the child Amleth. Thinking I’ll do a more in-depth write up after I see it again.

 

Solid, wish I had subtitles. Seeing it in Dolby ruled, absolutely oppressive sound at some points. My eyes lit up when I heard Ralph Ineson’s voice.

 

I think in the end I’m going to end up loving this for what it is and not what I thought it might be. I’ve definitely been thinking about it a lot since I saw it yesterday, especially Skarsgard’s performance.

I think she’d prefer to not see intestines lol. Me on the other hand, I’m sayin show me those insides baby!

it really isn’t that hard to understand lol. much easier than eggers’ other two

 

Went in to watch two dudes fight on a volcano, left satisfied.

 

If this was a silent film you could still follow the basic plot tbh

 

Yeah this was good. I want a sword my enemies can’t unsheathe.

 

My only complaint was I wanted the other son to die a more agonizing fashion. Dude was a tool and he got off easy

 

Kinda wild how many folks couldn’t hear Amleth said every 5 to 10 minutes. Also the plot is like 75% Hamlet, so it felt a little on the nose name-wise.

Iceland remains undefeated.

Intense film. Skarsgard’s physicality was wild.

 

This was IMO good.

 

Needed more hog though.

 

Definitely would’ve been nice to have Skarsgard swinging two swords on the valcano am I right
