Honestly, a shocking amount of PSX games are still around, if nothing else in spirit.

    Oh. Ha. Right.

I'm not happy about admitting it, but I actually forgot about all of that. I was just intrigued to see a new Tales game.

    So...

Player's Log: Orwell: Ignorance Is Strength.

I'm knee deep in Episode 2 and I'm slightly annoyed.

I typically like to play games in a window of some kind so that I can do other things on my computer as needed. It's just how I roll.

Anyway, the first Orwell let you play in a window and change the size by clicking and dragging the window. The sequel however, has a fixed window, which is way too big for my screen.

I found a way to force Steam to window the game to the size I wanted, and it had been working fine.

I get to a point just now where I have to upload a picture, and the game won't let me do it. Doesn't recognize the picture as uploadable, doesn't respond when my mouse hovers over it.

I'm racking my brain, scouring the forums, trying to figure out if I missed something or triggered something that locked me out, wondering what the hell is going on.

Out of desperation, I fullscreen the game. Game immediately recognizes the picture. Apparently by forcing the game into a window, I broke that portion of the game.

    Anyway, problem solved.

I don't get the Borderlands pushback tbh. That style of gameplay's slightly outclassed by Destiny now I guess, but from a writing standpoint does it not have some of the most razor-sharp humor in videogames?

Absolutely not. Some of the worst writing in any medium.

But what about the sheer abundance of quips. There's so many, maybe roughly 80% of the dialogue, if not total gameplay time. It's really impressive when you think about it tbh. And the VA style and delivery is quirky and appealing to so many gamers. Are you just acting pretentious? Genuinely confused. What would you say makes it bad and not up there with Double Fine's writing, Far Cry 3:BD, Yakuza, etc?

It’s not my type of humor at all, I find it grating, both the writing and the voice acting

I’m not pretentious about humor either, I’m on the record of liking a lot of humor the internet thinks is corny

    ?

The internet loves borderlands's humor, and so do lots of exclusively offline people. I've met many who say it's easily in the same ballpark as the Minions franchise, which brings so much joy to a huge amount of people. If it's ok to put you or anyone else who wants to answer this in the hot seat for a minute, what makes it corny?

I want to care but currently have no idea how to feel about this yet. Are they ports? Remasters? Exclusively for that streaming service (no option for one time purchase digital download)?
