the interlude (We Were Only Close For Like Two Weeks) is a reworked bit of a song off his next record. Bartees is out here doing call-forwards and callbacks on the same album

 

not feeling cosigns at all unfortunately. pretty unpleasant to my ears.

 

damn there’s a track called Mulholland Dr on here? a lot to live up to there, but I don’t doubt he’ll manage to.

 

oh he does. and don't even get me started on Wretched. fuuuuuuuuck that's a great song

did not expect this to be a single but it's a stunnerrrr

now that’s more like it. 2/3 for me, the two that hit are phenomenal but I still can’t wrap my head around cosigns, just no redeeming qualities on that one. seems like it’s an outlier tho because the other two, chef’s kiss

 

works pretty well in album context imo but it's def an outlier when you look at the record as a whole

 

Song is so moving and special

 

Honestly a little let down by the batch of songs so far overall. I think “Heavy Heart” is pretty great but the other 2 aren’t really doing much for me. Still excited.

 

That's kind of how I feel as well, but I've only listened to each song once and it took me a while to get into Live Forever, so I'm not really worried.

 

I directed the video for this recently. Psyched for people to see it!
