they’re very cool & well worth anyones time

Fucking love them. On the topic of discog runs, I was lucky enough to get to do that for RC while I was studying abroad in Greece (appropriately) back in 2018, and thus I ingeniously Pavlov'd myself to associate their music with warm, seaside Hellenic weather.

If you ever get the chance to do that specifically, I highly recommend it. Kind of like how one of these days I want to retreat to the Scottish highlands and binge Saor for like an entire week.

This is fucking wild lol. I love how all over the place Zola's friendships are. Between this cover and Zola's Run the Jewels remix, she's all over the musical spectrum.

Reminds me of when Mastodon covered Feist.

 

Well this is better than the misfires they put out in the last couple years at least. Surprised the album is still 7 months away.

Digging a little into The Ocean Collective's discog this week. To me it is very obvious that Loic dropped the grungey raspiness in his clean vocals for the Phanerozoic albums, and it's weird to me I haven't seen many people mention it. I definitely prefer his singing on the Phanerozoic albums compared to the past.

 

i thought they were just the ocean now.

 

I dunno. The physical records still say collective, was there a story about why they sometimes drop it?

 

got me, man. when i first found them they were the ocean collective, then when i ran into them again in maybe 2013 they were just the ocean. very confusing!

Sumerlands single rocks. If we’re never gonna get new War Hungry this is a great consolation
