Climate change suddenly just got very real for us here in Southern NM. Ruidoso, a popular tourist destination here, is currently battling 3 different wild fires. 70mph wind gusts, worst drought conditions on record. The first one grew 15,000 acres in under two hours. Most of my childhood memories are probably ash now. I'm shocked.

lmao. Watching MAGA world constantly step on a rake with this story while one of Trump's closest advisors and son-in-law gets a 2 billion dollar pay off from the Saudis is hilarious

Lol “we have so much COVID here might as well just bring more in” what a joke

  14. I like that she said "oodles."

I will say though... I was in Scotland last month, and my wife and I had to each pay $70 to get COVID tests in order to come back home, which feels like bullshit. I totally get why the US wants you to have a negative test to enter the country, but it should at least be affordable, if not free.

I'll actually be in Scotland starting next Friday. Was it easy to get a test? I assume a rapid test is needed as it says within 24 hours? Did you just go to a pharmacy (or chemist as the Scots say)? We will be flying into Edinburgh but leaving from Inverness so that's where we'll have to grab tests.

Depending on when you went, you probably had to do the tests and passenger locator form to enter which is all gone now so it's just 1 test to return. I'm nervous about getting stuck there (catching covid during the trip) but eh, I guess that's the risk I've accepted by agreeing to this trip.

  20. We flew out of Inverness as well, actually! And yeah, we had to find a local pharmacy and schedule an appointment to get our rapid tests done. The pharmacy was really small so they only allowed 1 person to be inside at a time, and they made us do our tests outside in an alley behind the pharmacy haha. Not sure if you're renting a car like we did, but hopefully you can find somewhere close to where you'll be. When my wife booked our appointments, I don't think there were a ton of options.
UPDATE: My wife jussssst informed me that their rules may have changed since we were there. You’ll want to look into it and make sure Scotland accepts them as well, but it looks like at least some European countries are letting you do your own tests now. Here’s a screenshot my wife just sent me:

It’s wild to me that when there is so much emphasis on doing at home tests, states still don’t have an easy way (or any way really) to upload results. Makes you wonder what actual case counts are.

  24. When schools were doing their own testing every day, Utah's numbers got suuuper high so the governor basically said "Our numbers are getting too high so we're gonna stop testing at schools now."

Not to mention, I've had several doctors (my kids' pediatrician and my own primary doctor) tell me that the at-home tests are wildly inaccurate, especially with the Omicron variant.
