He’s still laying low, the Saves Instagram was fully scrubbed. In a AMA on his Twitter, Rodrigo said he doesn’t know the status of the band. Both him and Arun still list it in their social bios.

But more importantly this and everyone involved.

 

Not a popular opinion, but Ill take some new material. Once Chris works on himself of course. Would rather Jesse Lacey material first, then Chris. These guys need the time to work on themselves, but I dont think they should be cancelled for ever.

 

its interest bc the jesse stuff had happened quite a while before it came out but the chris thing was so recent when it was aired.

every year I feel like someone tells me BN is going to tour again and I kinda hope they do not. I feel like they will come back at some point though.

 

nah, they won't be back. it's interesting that the other guys haven't started any new projects though. at least not that i'm aware of. i don't follow anyone from BN on anything. maybe they want to stay out of that world because they know that fans and press will only ask about Jesse and BN.

i hope the other guys from Saves get into some new projects soon. leave Chris to farm and be insane.

 

Brand New feels done. They’ve felt done for years since Daisy though, and their band perception started seeming screwy well before that. It was a cool surprise hearing Science Fiction come out, but it was an ok album. Finding out there was a messed up history with Jesse may be a way of understanding how a band like this went off the rails.

I’d still love to hear any old BN unreleased demos and songs, but hearing that there was problems makes me think that they may not be right in coming back. People can change and try and make up for their past mistakes, but jumping back into this band may be something that is best not to happen because the whole thing felt dysfunctional and weird at some point.

Not sure about Chris. It’s unfortunate that good bands are ruined by inappropriate behaviour from a member(s) and that people are hurt along the way (which is the worst part).

 

the term "cancelling someone" is the stupidest thing i've ever heard. you would have to kill someone? i don't have an opinion on either band but that's the goofiest shit. anyways.

I saw that the singer Ryan Adams just released an album recently. Didn’t listen to him before, definitely won’t start now, but I don’t know how his fans/former fan feel about listening to it.

In general…People need to realize that every situation is different. Acknowledging displeasure to people is important if done appropriately. Not everyone is gonna feel the same way. Often, there is a victim(s) to keep in mind, so don’t make it about yourself.

Guess we’ll see where or if some of these other artists reappear. Nothings says they can’t or won’t (like when I saw Adams name appear recently). Sad there’s an actual list you could make of all these artists.

I swear to God, I saw Ryan Adams once, not knowing who he was, and he played the first song, played the second song, was pissed off at how the first song sounded so forced the band to play it again and hated it again, I think he even accused someone of messing with the equipment, pushed the mic over and stormed out.

 

Sounds entirely unlikable. Seems like there are red flags for people to know to steer clear of him.

its just the dumbest thing all around man. people know what they're doing and what reactions theyre gonna get when they go around saying cancelling people is stupid and they want creeps to make more music, its pure provocation and people take the bait every time and then the same circular arguments happen again and again in every single thread. i like, randomly listened to sound the alarm the other day and was just gonna be like wow remember this album, havent heard it in 10 years, because thats all bands like this are good for these days is some harmless nostalgia and a trip down memory lane, and where else online would i get any like minded people who might also remember how good sound the alarm is? but no, its another fucking jesse lacey argument, like what the hell man i just wanna talk about an album from 2006 that a fraction of people ever even heard let alone remember and can still appreciate
