To be fair, lethal injection is basically torture if administered incorrectly, so I'd prefer the firing squad if it has less room for error.

Obviously, there should be no death penalty in the first place though!

 

I think unfortunately the majority of people think of the Death Penalty as 'This person did this bad thing and they deserve to be punished" rather than The Government and clearly broken judicial system is allowed to kill people. It's wild that we authorize that in any capacity.

 

The biggest system for abusing kids is the Church, and they will stay protected.

Yeah when this comes up IRL and I say something like "I don't believe in state violence like this," the response is often a bit of a short-circuit and it's 50/50 if the conversation ever gets back on track.

If there's one thing I've learned about living in a country full of right wing white people, it's that many people are very very wrong all the time about their own lived experiences lol

 

in my head canon she's a cia asset whose sole purpose is to draw impressionable, progressive minded young people into the american political establishment so they become reliable voters.

At least AOC is using her power for good. She’s literally telling Biden personally to cancel student debt. No one else on the left has that kind of access. And she’s on the right side on most issues.

 

Living nearby and having organized in her district on and off for a long time, I can also tell you that she and DSA suck regardless of having done positive things. Both can be and are palpably, annoyingly true.

Being one of the only voices for leftishness in Congress isn't enough to just make her not suck.

Still, though I didn't find the tweet to be much of a dunk. She's just doing Congress things. It's like calling a pro athlete a sellout as if it wasn't their whole point of trying.
